  • I don't even watch Dr. Who and I'm crying oh God

  • It's a well done "Tug on the heart strings scene"

The music helps more than people know who are sobbing to this.

Bill Nighy's exceptional as he always is....and he gives the reason for your tears.

But Tony Curran who portrays Vincent van Gogh plays the scene so well, you put yourself in his place of "When I'm dead and gone, all that work I was so passionate about, which was laughed at in my time, will be appreciated so greatly"

And yes I welled up too the 1st time I saw this.

  • One of the most beautiful moments of Dr Who history. I also cried when I watched this, and it still touches me each time I see it. I love how it wasn't cheesy as well.

I too wish Vincent had known his worth, but that is what depression does to you, I know because I have suffered very badly with it since my early teens. It was a lovely tribute to him.

  • I cried. Jesus, that was beautiful.

  • I'm not crying, SNIFF! There's just something in both of my eyes.

  • @shadowofthecandle Ah, I see. Then, do you mind if I ask why you asked it? =) lol

  • THIS SCENE IS SO BRILLIANT <3 i wish the real vincent could have had this happen to him <3 its so sad to think that incredible man died not knowing what an influence he would be on the world...

  • I wish this really could have happened and Vincent van Gogh could have known this. The poor man. :(

  • Vincent Van Gogh was one of the greatest artists who ever lived, and even though he is no longer alive I hope that wherever he is he somehow knows how much he is appreciated right now :)

  • he has two ears

  • @pipe8a

Nope dude best Doctor Who moment is this /watch?v=MeOQKpJ-fqQ

  • I AM NOT CRYING I AM NOT CRYING I AM NOT CRYING I AM NOT CRYING ;___;

  • And this is why Doctor Who is the best show on television!

  • Every time i see this episode on tv i end up in tears, the Dr who actors catch the emoticion perfectly, along with the background music. I just watched this clip on here and yep i got tears again. As other comments say this is the best episode ever

  • AWWWWW GREATEST DOCTOR WHO MOMENT EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR :'D

  • I love how he listens so humbly, so innocently. And by the way I agree with the curator 100% VINCENT IS THE GREATEST OF THEM ALL.

  • I just cried all over again :L

  • Amazing episode and a great tribute to such an fantastic artist. RIP Vincent

  • Doctor Who has made me cry more than a few times, but never as much as i did for this episode. Taking Van Gogh - a suicidal, depressed man who thinks he is just completely talentless and worthless - to the future to show him how much of an impact he makes on the world... i just have no words to express how it makes me feel. Because he deserved that. He deserved to know how amazing and brilliant and wonderful he was as a person and as an artist. And, in it's own way, Doctor Who gave that to him.

  • I love this episode

  • Made me cry when I saw it on the beeb crying again! Big soft old ac/dc fan ah!

  • cant help but cry every time i see this scene. thank you for posting it

  • Makes me cry everytime :') This was so sweet- <3

  • waw i used english cc and they actually got most of it right.

  • the sound quality ruins it kinda though :/

  • This apparently isn't an original comment, but I also cry every time I see this scene.

  • Not only the greatest Doctor Who moments, but one of the greatest moments in Television.

  • liek if u cyr evry tim.

  • who ever they got to play vincent should win an award for that performance or at the very least be nominated. great scene.

  • ive never cried tears of joy until this. this makes me cry evertime, its so beautiful.

  • I cried. ;_;

  • they would have the ultimate ginger babies <3

  • Why is everything backwards?

  • Oh God. Now I need to start watching Doctor Who, don't I?

  • @briden87 My thoughts exactly

  • you never how many lives you touch

  • The Greatest Doctor Who episode of all time...hands down

  • Absolutley my favourite Doctor Who scene ever!!

  • Makes me cry

  • This make me cry.....tears of happiness...shit

  • "I feel that there is nothing more truly artistic than to love people"-- Vincent Van Gogh

  • ALL OF MY TEARS TT_TT

  • The guy who played Vincent is brilliant

  • Sobbing great, fat tears with no regrets.

  • The way the music transitions when they enter the gallery is simply beautiful.

  • I cry every time I see this clip. I would like to one day be a designer and engineer, and I know that if anything I made were featured like that, I would definitely start crying.

  • My cries!!!

  • Proud to be Dutch

  • I loved this the first time and I still do..I like to pretend that this actually happened.

  • These tears are legit.

  • I'm a dude, and I was on the verge of tears the first time I saw this...

  • @continentalrcinglg Same here, except I blubber like a baby every time I see it.

  • @Imagin3WhirledPeas Yup, it gets me to weeping every time. Might be my favorite NuWho episode and scene of all.

  • Forgive me,but I don't think the actor cries hard enough. Any of us here cries harder than him..

  • who the fuck won't cry for this?

  • I CRIED...

    THIS SCENE IS THE BEST...

  • This was one of my favourite moments out of the entire series, absolutely loved it. Made me cry so much, wish Van Gogh would have really seen this, he really was one of the greatest

  • i love to think that this would have actually happened. that van gogh could have seen how lovdd and admired he is today. to me, he is the finest painter of all time.

  • That part made me cry sooo much T_T

  • The eleventh doctors best episode by far!!! This scene always makes me cry.

  • the best doctor who episode wit the best moment wit no doubt in my mind .......

  • Wait. Why is the TARDIS smoking/on fire? I can't remember.

  • @shadowofthecandle Someone posted bills on the TARDIS in Vincent's time and when it went through the vortex...

  • @BSUGrad Oh right! Thanks :)

  • @shadowofthecandle It had a bunch of posters and stuff on it. Burning whatever's stuck to it must be the TARDIS' way of keeping itself clean

  • @Imagin3WhirledPeas No, only when it goes through the time vortex

  • I'm not gonna lie. I watched this video about 30 times in a row. I LOVE this episode with all my heart!

  • Oh my god, so amazing. So amazing.

  • god why can't I find a good version of this scene. Still, I have to say something, or I'll explode. As a writer, and therefore a form of artist, I could tell you that this would make me so happy.. It would break my heart. I don't know how else to put it. I would be able to die in peace if this were me.

  • @rellethias Yo paul, Just saw your comment on this video after following your facebook post lol (this is AJ).

  • @pipe8a i couldnt agree more.
