how long have you had skippie? I'm curious when my bird, petrie, will start talking like that. Over the past year she has started talking but has only used that quiet grumble once. I hope she starts doing that more.
I think Skippie is very unique, most websites I've read about conures, say if they say 5 words and you can understand them, this is what you should expect. However they are good whistlers.
I post these videos because he is teaching Ruby to talk too, and her little voice is raspy.
Try noises, aha choo, kiss, whistles, also a radio on..
I was watching this video with my Green Cheek Conure, Chewy, and as soon as he heard skipping he jumped onto the laptop and started mimicing him. It was the cutest thing ever.
Ernie loves to talk when the water is running ANYWHERE in the house, but he talks the most in the shower too. He sneezes and laughs and coughs like me too. He's funny (Skippie)
I had 2 one Poncho.He was Blue, not a nice bird..The Albino's name is Pearl.. He's real loveable and talks english from morning til night..What's your birds name?

Yes, The Albino Parakeet is teaching him to talk, plus we talk to him all the time..He talking much better now, He sure is alot of fun..
