  • am planning on buying this soon should ??i ask because i have heard and seen some really bad reviews about it but i really like the 5 inch display i basically want to buy it for multi media and browsing more than anything else, anyone with some helpful advice??plus i heard i doesn't play flash videos whatever that means i have no idea so i need lotsa help.am in kenya and tablets are popin right now.i know were abit late but we are catching up.

  • Could i use this as a phone? Does it have headset for hearing or do i have to take the calls with a handsfree device? thank you!!

  • @misterwill1985 Yes you could, the device has a built in speaker, so you wouldn't need to use a handsfree device.

  • What plan are you with on Optus? Could you recommend a worthwhile plan if I wanted to use it as a mobile phone and a tablet? Cheers,

  • @Hug0101 I don't own this tablet anymore, however I am still paying off the plan. From memory, the plan costed $29.95 per month, and the tablet was $5 on top of that. It included 4GB of data during peak times, and 8GB of data during off-peak times, though all of your data expired, if you used the peak data first. It also included unmetered social networking. I had the option to pay an extra $10 a month, so I could use it as a phone. I don't think that Optus have this device anymore though.

  • @MarrkDaviid I'm planning on getting it here (Cambodia, where it's 399 - good price?) and then taking it to Australia in a couple of months because I'm moving.

  • @Hug0101 399 AUD or another currency?

  • @MarrkDaviid USD.

  • @Hug0101 That is a good price brand new, although I may have seen them slightly cheaper on ebay in the past, though not by much.

  • @MarrkDaviid Thanks a ton mate! I'll probably be getting it next month!

  • @Hug0101 The same 4GB data plan still appears to be available through Optus for $29.95 per month, you will have to ask them about enabling voice on the SIM card, and how much it costs.

  • dell streak roxx!.......best tablet phone ever.........waiting for the gingerbread update :(

  • @chicken65able do you own this phone/tablet? should i get it ?

  • where could i get an up graded battery cause the 1530mAH is crap

  • @84WAKEUP You can google the 4800mAh battery for the Dell Streak, however it isn't manufactured by Dell, and sticks out of the device, which would be a little annoying and unattractive.

  • you speak like criss angel....:P

  • you very funny....99$ who wants to pay for dat

  • Thanks Mark, I am am also on Optus. Must say I don't like the new UI and will stay with 2.2 which seems more logical and attractive. Accueweather on 2.2 can be adjusted to location via "Menu". And "Navigate" on 2.2 works just the same. Mine offered to add voice and so installed SVOX by itself. So now it tells you which street to turn at. SVOX can be had as a Market app. And yes it does use the GPS which saps the battery. Hope to see you @ mydellmini forums for Dell Tablets

  • @1945kangaroo I personally don't like Dell's Stage UI, I would recommend checking out GO Launcher in the Android Market.

  • can one update from 2.2 to 2.2.2? If so, how? Thanks

  • @whoissarthak It depends on Dell, your carrier, or sometimes a combination of both. You will usually get a notification telling you that an over the air update is available, that is what happened with me. I am with the Optus network by the way, I am pretty sure that Dell Streak updates aren't dependent on carriers.
