I have been playing the bass for a long time. I appreciate all type of players, skills and technique. I really like this video and your approach. Love the fact that you made it your own so to speak. When I see guys here that can play RHCP version note for note just like Flea, then I don't really get excited. Anyone can copy. There is no TRUE talent when it come to coping someone else. OH and another thing... There is NO slapping in this version AT ALL... so don't listen to these people who've only heard the RHCP version, and keep it up

The hardest part of that song on bass is : "World Keep on turnin', cause it won't be too long." The part "Keep on turnin'" theres actually a pretty intense lick there.. use guitar pro or a tuner to tune your bass to exact pitch, guaranteed just that will make it sound better. Good job though

This is a regular bass that plays it.I thought it was a Fender Rhodes bass line because it is so heavy.That makes it cooler.

Stevies version, they dont use slam bass, i remember watching stevie and sting on bass play the song they dont use slam bass, thats something flea did to give the song a more agressive, mean sound. granted i do like The Red Hot Chili Peppers version better...this guy was right on for Stevie's version

Not in the Stevie Wonder version, which is the original if I may add. Red Hot Chili Peppers redid it and Flea slapped the main line. That might be the version you're thinking of. Or possibly the Marcus Miller version which is quite funky and an awesome take on this classic song. I suggest that everyone checks that one out if you haven't already! dude thanks a ton for this! I kept trying the RHCP version which is innapropriate for my soul band and practice is in two hours- a perfect simple aproach to this bassline, except i lowered it an octave on my five string.
