  • Absolutely cute. I want to hug it.

  • I've handled them no problem. You have to rub really hard to get the hairs to penetrate the skin.

  • is that even not a mouse?

  • Those finger nails are pretty f***ing disgusting lol

  • I hate bugs but this looks SOOOO tempting to touch!!! I wonder if its soft? Has anyone been brave enough to fine out? lol YES I KNOW ITS HIGHLY POISONOUS.

  • i bet it would be awesome in combat (toss pokeball)

  • Well, it's very cute! A shame you can't pet them.

  • I got stung on the tip of the finger when I was a kid. It felt like my whole arm was on fire all day.

  • if u want to pet them keep it and let it grow into a moth then it will become a huge FURRY MOTH pet it :3

  • Its a kwama forager!

  • it's fluffy! <3 :D

  • IT'S SO FLUFFAYYYYYYYY!!!!! I'M GONNA DIE!!!

  • it's so cute :3

i wanna snuggle it all night

i don't care how poisonous it is i wanna snuggle it X3

  • ...ok apparently YouTube is getting more and more anal with each passing day. Anyway, it's "Stinging Caterpillars" uploaded by floridabutterflyfarm and it's just to the right with the related videos, or at least it is for me. That's the video where I first learned about the poisonous ones. According to it, butterfly caterpillars can't sting us, thankfully.

  • Whoa, my goodness. I'd only seen that because I was watching a video (or powerpoint made into a video) about stinging caterpillars. It's good to find out these things, because I love caterpillars (I'm raising painted lady butterflies) and I would have probably found out the hard way that I wasn't supposed to touch that thing. I guess none of you actually touched it? (except your fingernail which apparently didn't cause any problems)

  • these are really cute but they are sadly poisoinous TnT but if it wasnt i would keep one in a bug cage.

  • Thats an ungly fuckin mouse...

  • Oh my, throughout this whole video I was like "Don't touch it, don't touch it...DON'T TOUCH IT!" Those Asps are a bitch.

  • Lol the only thing i had going through my mind while watching this bug was the scene of Starship Troops with NPH....

    "It's afraid...... IT'S AFRAID!!!"

  • what the hell

  • Cute :)

  • When i was in junior high the school was infested with these bugs because of a mango tree or something. I remember barely touching one without noticing and it stung me very lightly... It was a baby too (about a quarter of an inch long)... I remember having a fever and some kind of a feeling of being F'D UP... After that I researched on it and i found out that if you take one with the tip of your fingers very carefully from the top (mohawk like hair) you can avoid it stinging you.

  • @djr4yman Also if you put them in a plastic cup or something, you will notice it can do some damage to the cup or any thin plastic container or bag by scratching it... Very creepy...

  • Kill the Brainbug!

  • They are totally awesome looking caterpillars and the moths are even prettier. Are the moths poisonous also?

  • @veelalynne I think I read that it's just the caterpillars that sting you, and only the moth ones...(searching)... I just found the video I first learned about this on, freaking youtube link blocking thing. I'll try and put "Stinging Caterpillars" in the video response thing.

  • WTH. how come its so furry. and tis scary gosh. but well what a amazing pet u have

  • i just got stung by one 2day. and it hurts alot more than a red wasp. i could barely move my arm after it got me but it got me twice each sting is about the size of the actual bugthat stung me. it stung me at 8 am and the sting is barely going away at 630 pm thats ten hrs later people. if ur allergic 2 bees and stuff u might wanna go 2 the docter . cuz they are bad stings

  • Hi, I'm from West Cornwall and I run the free paper 'The Caterpillar' - Journal of the Cornish Lepidoptera Society. I am interested in publishing Caterpillar stories. Perhaps we could do an article on your pet Caterpillars? Have you encountered any more unusual invertebrates lately? Ye Caterpillar Dub Visionary

  • aw so cute

  • Wow it looks like a big furry paw?

  • Who ever posted this video is not very intelligent. This is the Puss caterpillar one of the most poisonous insects in the united states. This Childs hand was DANGEROUSLY close to the hairs of this insect.

  • @alloyd3 If you had actually read the video summary, you could see that it was posted in order to find out what kind of caterpillar it was in the first place; furthermore, if you are going to cast aspersions on someone's intelligence, try to ensure that you are using correct grammar. "child's," NOT "Childs." :)

  • @dwieselmcallister lol that guy is a moron don't listen to him. it's not that bad. the spines just cause minor to painful irritation.

  • @alloyd3 Dude, don't admonish someone because they don't know what something is.

  • @alloyd3 its not a big deal to touch it really...theres several of these around my grandmothers house and everyonce in a while i touch them...nothing really happens, just a tingling sensation on the fingertips

  • @alloyd3 VERY few people have heard of these animals. Stings aren't common enough that they're widely talked about.

  • Have you noticed, at 3:50 it's exactly the same shape as your fish fridge magnet.

  • First of all this caterpillar has been said to be the most poisonous one in the US. Second, most caterpillars don't bite and inject poison. What happens is that they have all that hair on them and mixed into it are small stinging hairs. very easy to find the stinging ones. these caterpillars can't bite.

  • Thats not a puss moth caterpillar. Puss moths are green and have a face-like head.

  • its too bad you can't cradel them on ur hand .so you play with it. becos they bite and inject poisoun . they are so adorable 8)

  • These little bastards sting pretty bad if you touch them. In south Texas we call em ASPs.

  • Last year I circled the 48 contiguous states on a bicycle. I put my hand on one of these in my sleep while camping out off of rt69 in east Texas just south of Tyler. Let me just tell ya my hand was on FIRE for days after this encounter! I just recently, as in yesterday, learned what it was.

  • You are very lucky it didn't sting you! It is highly venomous!

  • lol i have one for a pet but its black and it doesnt have a tail like that

  • I got one of these on my leg, luckily I was wearing jeans. I started screaming xD

  • cute little fuzzy wuzzy

  • press it down on your dick and make a new spankwire video.

  • Touch it! Put it in your mouth!

trust me, it's a lot of fun

  • looks like a treble from Star Trek

  • I would want one of those as a pet, It's would be the size of a cat, and It would sit on my sholder, It's name would be Rufus <3

  • @Cisforchao LOL UR GROSS, it is a little cute though

  • @Cisforchao LOL UR GROSS, it is a little cute though

  • @Cisforchao

LOL my hamster was called Rufus

    Different colour tho

  • @Cisforchao hah, it`s venomous

  • @Cisforchao

    That's the real American dream.

  • im glad it died i hate these i touched one for like a minute without noticing it and it hurt really bad for the next 2 days!!

  • I live in New Orleans and one of these tore me up! It's cute as a button but WATCH OUT! If you do encounter this well groomed cotton ball bandit put tape over the area to get the stinging hairs out of your pores (like clear moving tape) and keep ice on it. Get some benadril and !% hydrocrdizone cream.....

super cool scare if they get you good enough!

  • I got stung by one of these when I was young. It hurt like a MOTHERF'er. Go ahead and let one sting you, I DARE you! I'd rather get stung by 10 bees, than 1 asp

  • I was stung in armpit by red wasp I screamed for 7 hours age 8. There seems to be smaller type of puss caterpillar it hurt as bad as the wasp. Schmidt Sting Pain Index likes to ignore important species like this, the Australian bulldog ant, giant Japanese hornet, cow killer ant and giant cicada killer wasp. It FAILS as a "study" due to neglected aspect fallacies.

  • Aww cute little pillar-pooh! Shame it has to be poisoness.

  • My 9 year-old son was stung this morning by this caterpillar which we in Texas call an Asp. Very Painful!! They look cute, but like HippoKissez says, "It is evil!" He was barefoot on our patio and stepped on it.

  • i've cought 3 of these before. i cought 1 today. 2 of them made a cacoon and 1 of them is in a big lizard cage.

  • kiss it jajajjaja

  • hmm i caught a couple today, i think i need to find someone or something to test to see if its DEADLY!

  • i would love to make a fur coat out of those, or a bed.

  • that's reallyfunny that made my day.

  • @watermelonorange you'd like a fur coat made out of venomous insect spines eh?

  • ah..it looks friendly

  • its a puss caterpillar :D

  • i was stung by one of these the other night. stung me directly on my back and i experienced this sharp shooting pain under my armpit, sucked.

  • KILL IT !!!!, and yes its an evil poison bastard fluffy bitch!! ...lol

  • No don't ever kill it, put it back where you found it and quit interfering with nature thanks!

  • IT MUST DIE

  • looks like a mini hedge hog

  • It is indeed a puss moth caterpillar. I wouldn't advise touching it. If you get stung by it, you'll be up shit creek without a paddle.

  • Did you get messed up from this encounter?
