Episodes 3,4,5 and 7 have been lost. The computer those episodes were stored in crashed, I'm looking into a professional who will attempt to retrieve info from that drive. I hope to have the episodes back in a few weeks...we'll see. Thanks for watching.
So what was wrong. Im in the process of rebuilding my 383 in my 65 Newport. Just need to drop it back in and plumb it and its ready to drive again. It's taken 6months getting where I got cause of school and all but it will be well worth the wait.
I thought I didn't tighten a rod cap properly, here's what happened; I bought all new nuts and bolts for the rebuild. The bolts I bought for the flywheel were slightly longer then the origional. When cranked all i heard was a horrible banging noise. I put the proper bolts back on the flywheel and the problem thankfully was solved. Make sure all new bolts are an exact match in length and, hardness (softer bolts will break when torked, harder bolts will strip threads when torked).
The engine bay looks great, it was pretty clean when I started. I scrubbed it down, replaced all the wires and hoses and touched up any part that needed some minor paint. It looks like new.
Nice
