Tommy may be a nice guy and a good guitar player, but Ace is the real deal and everyone should know it. As a fan, I'm sorry that KISS has become a parody of itself - half KISS, half KISS tribute band. If KISS was to go on without Ace and Peter, Tommy and Eric would be much better off with their own characters. I don't think anyone should put on Ace's and Peter's makeups and costumes on to do what they should be doing. It's happening solely for commercial reasons, mainly because of merchandise.

@HackerGuitarist I don't have a problem getting with the times, dude. I listen to a lot of current stuff other than KISS, btw. Whether or not zombie KISS is bringing new fans, I just don't care much about. Again I'm sorry new fans won't be getting the real deal, like I did in my own time, but I'm not bitter about it - on the contrary, I'm genuinely proud and glad I was lucky enough. I was excited and still am about the four geniouses who put it all together - that was great, that was true!!!

I have been a Kiss fan for longer than i can remember (43 now) and i have spent countless hours learning Ace's licks and stuff in my room while younger....

What i want to say is that i think Tommy Thayer is doing an outstanding job in Kiss as doing Ace's parts, man it even sounds better than original licks done by Ace more often than not.

And listening to Sonic Boom, one can tell the man is hired to do just that, play like Ace used to play in his prime years.

Gibson would never sell out a Ace Frehley signature because of his reputation. And I say that I have nothing against Ace Frehley. He was a great guitarrist but I have never seen the words "Ace" and "dignity" together, I think Tommy is the best man to replace Ace.

Tommy Thayer is a great guitarist and a very, very kind and great guy! I hate those that say he's just a clone putting on Ace's makeup etc. Tommy is the best man to replace Ace! There's nothing bad about Tommy at all.
