i guess we should at least be thankful to oscar for giving warning the staff of the hospital to be ready and to be able to contact patien's relatives before the patient expires..the patients relatives will have time to see and say their last goodbyes to the dying patient... and if they are catholic they still have time to undergo the SACRAMENT OF THE SICK....

This is a beautiful & comforting story! The dept. that the cat is in, is a terminal-dementia unit, in which the patients are unknowing of their daily surroundings. They're unaware of the fact that they're going to pass away soon, yet it gives the family some time to prepare. My mom passed away last April, and I felt so blessed that it wasn't a "sudden" death & I had time to spend w/her. All of God's creatures are made for a purpose/reason...this is just one example as to how & why!! Wow!!

I found out about Oscar ages ago, i love him! i love cats that have that fluffy, fat look lol and its not overweight! some cats just have that big boned structure. Imagine being alone with oscar in a dark hallway..at night.. lol of course there's nothing to be sacred of..he is a cute kitty..but what scares me is he probably see's spirits/demonic forces etc

Oscar is an incredible cat who is able to predict death, affording the staff to quickly respond, notify family and be there when an individual leaves this world for the next. For whatever reason, God has given this ability to Oscar and thankfully, the medical and caring staff doesn't disregard this. I have a friend who raises Waterdogs who can smell undiagnosed cancer. It's been proven in many scientific studies. As a family member, I would be thankful to have a few hours notice.

What's important for folks to understand is Oscar doesn't cause death, he simply senses it.

I would love to spend my last dying minutes in the company of a cat like Oscar.

There should be a scientific investigation to confirm whether this cat has, if any, psychic ability. That is by assessing whether Oscar might in any way trigger the deaths of the patients; if not then perhaps the cat really "knows". I do believe in animal instinct but this one seems very extraordinary

Apparently the staff at the Home have done tests with Oscar by having residents doors closed. Oscar would sit out in front of their door and once the man or woman using that little room has passed, Oscar would leave to somewhere else.

why be scared? Hes trained to sniff out dieing patents. cats have a sense of smell thats very heightened and they read body language very easily. Its not that scary. A lot of animals do this.
