Well....I have just started. I've been going back and forth for a couple of months but I have finally made up my mind. My last relaxer was in October 2011. The videos have been a big help and motivating. I will keep watching for inspiration. :))
@telynch7 I am glad that you found it inspiring. My journey has been frustrating at times, but then I get reminded of how this is one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life to except myself the way I am. Please keep me informed of how your journey is going.
@telynch7 Am a bit commical too I'm sure. I am soooo country. I think that's why I have not made videos in awhile. I do have a lot of pics of my journey on facebook. Maybe I will start making new videos soon and putting a collage of my pictures together to share with the youtube family.
@Deni0417 I've been going for about 4 months. I cheat by wearing half wigs. Get a curly one and it wont be hard to blend the front of your hair. If you would like a website to look for them let me know :)
When I did comb my hair I treated it like it was already natural and used a wide tooth comb and and started combing from the ends to the root. When it's time to chop off the ends and you've had enough you'll know when it's time.
Hello....... Transitioning is a personal choice that I chose. The experience won't be the same for everyone. It is a lot of work transitioning, but it actually wasn't as bad for me as I've heard others say. I was lucky enough to find a natural stylist that helped me through the transition and I am thankful. I wore a lot of braid outs and twist outs with the ends set on rod rollers. I wore a lot of protective styles that did not require me to comb my hair too much.
wow!!! well I have very full and thick hair wen my hair is relaxt! am transitioning naww...it may seem like a silly Q bt will my hair be twice as thick!!!
I've relaxed my hair on and off for the past 7 years but i never chopped it all off. if you look really hard, my hair has long segments of intense curls followed by relaxed hair and then some curly and so forth as I only relaxed the roots back in the day. i haven't relaxed my roots for the past 2 years yay me! but my question is if having the mixture of relaxed and natural hair unhealthy for managing(combing, untangling, styling)? please reply! thanks (:
OMG! you were insiprational! I watch videos all the time and it's hard to find stuff that will work because of my ends and you gave me hope...I had to watch your video twice though...I was rocking out to Jill to hard the first time LOL
@springtime407 Hi!! Sorry it took me a minute to respond. I appreciate the kind words. When I went into my transition I just rolled with the punches. I found that using perm rods on my ends did help with making my ends not look such a hot mess. People make transitioning out to be so terrible, but you can do anything if you set your mind up to do it. I am almost 7 months natural. Hang in there and let me know how your progress is going.
@springtime407 Awwww, thanks!! I need to post some new vids since my hair has grown. I was looking at some pics of when I first BC'ed and now. What a difference. It as been 7 months as of today.
Hi Soror!! Loved your video! that Jill Scott was slamming as well... I am currently growing out my TWA and I CANNOT WAIT until my hair is long enough to twist and braid out, etc... Thanks for the inspiration. I do notice my patience getting thin sometimes, but i'm determined to see this through this time... Thanks again & OO-OOP!! (lol)
@shirajai Thanks you so much shirajai!! I have since then done the big chop and am trying to get use to my new look. But....... I have quite a bit of new growth and so it is not a huge change for me. Again, thanks for the kind and sincere comment.
@KSweetKisses Thanks so much!! I will definitely subscribe. Sorry it has take me a minute to get back with you. It has been a busy week, but I love the naturals and those transitioning to natural on youtube. If it had not been for the support and tutorials on youtube I don't think I would have made it this far.
