@InuSama95 Kaoru is actually playing through a Diezel VH4 amplifier head and various random cabinets depending on where they tour. His rack is mainly only effect units now ( like delay, wah, etc... ). It has been a while since he has had the peavy. the VHT head only shows up sometimes in Japan live's along with his custom 6x12 VHT cabinets. There is also an interview from last month where they explain all their gear.

@rayrayisgod Pretty much a 7 string that’s got the EMGs in them. As far as price, you’re gonna have to look into spending a lot. But the average LTD Viper-407 is about $650 or so.

If you want Die’s sound, you gotta put in a Seymour Duncan distortion model in the bridge and a 59 model in the neck.

I love Dir en grey to death but their tone is pretty bad in this video. That's why I usually hate these demo videos because they only use the gear that's provided for them and usually... it's pretty subpar.

@SoilentGrief Yeah, I know what you mean. Especially Kaoru. I am so used to Hearing his Diezel VH4 ( Amazing amp drools ). I mean, after I saved up and bought the VH4 I realized how amazing Kaoru"s tone really is :) DIEZEL FOR THE WIN!

Die's Tone is pretty amazing too, but I am a Diezel man. haha.

@Evaninja17 Live and on the albums, they have great tone, so I'm sure this was just a one-off demo they did. And personally, I love Mesa and Orange rigs. :]

@SoilentGrief Yeah they do! I bet it has something to do with those Marshalls. A Marshall is a great amp, but not for the tone of DIR EN GREY. That's why they use Diezel and Mesa. I love Mesa and Orange as well. :)

@SoilentGrief lol nah i couldn't see die and kaoru using the same amps because they both have their own sound, and i doubt they carry their amps around in their back pockets! xD these were probably just the available amps because imo the dir en grey tone isn't going over so well with these marshall amps and that tone seems to have been burned into my brain over the past year so i'm sure they themselves realize these marshalls arent exactly theyre style! :P

@TheRed343 correct-o-mundo. Kaoru is currently running a VHT pittbull head and Bogner preamp though a Peavey 6505. and Die and still using his full Mesa Boogie rig.

These Marshalls are a tad unfortunate. They're so standard issue. Even their effects table couldn't do them justice. Especially for the Red Soil demo.
