this has been the most overblown hit in history due to this camera angle... there are several angles showing that this hit happens DURING the play... and colt was not walking off the field... that is Texas A&M's sideline... if you watch the longhorn helmet on this shot you clearly see that the play has not ended...

They begged them to stay because A&M was the only school holding UT and numerous other schools from joining the Pac-10 because A&M wanted to go to the SEC. A&M didn't want the PAC-10, so UT and the other schools wanted to preserve the Big 12 and the money that they had. It's economics, not based on a rivalry lol. @cubertcu22 every football coach who has ever coached before will tell you not to take your helmet off on the field. for occasions just like this: you'll get smoked in the head without your helmet. thankfully kellen moore didn't go for his head. they will also say, after an interception, find the quarterback and put him on the turf. although it may or may not have been a late hit, it was very close either way. the other view is better because it shows that it was a split second difference.

In the NCG, I think both Texas and Alabama will not be that impressive but I pick Alabama by 3 points. TCU has the number 1 ranked defense and the number one ranked offense.
In addition, TCU has the fastest team in the country on both sides of the ball. And the fastest team will beat you 75% of the time. Texas didn't want to play TCU and neither did Alabama. Actually, the play was over when he began to take his helmet off. If you have ever seen the down field video of what actually happened you will see the Aggie DB intercept the ball and take two steps before the receiver tackled him and the play was whistled dead. That was when McCoy began to take his helmet off before being ear holed by Heard. Now, I know the Aggies don't want to admit that is what happened but I have seen the play split screen and that is exactly what happened.
#1 The downfield video you referenced only proves that it wasn't that late. The tackle was made 17 yds downfield from Heard and less than 2 seconds later, he did what defensive players are taught... go block the closest player, above the waist.
#2 There is no video available that has audible evidence of a whistle being blown.
#3 If the play's over, why, IN THIS VERY VIDEO, is Lyle Sendlein shown at the bottom of the screen, making a hit at the exact same time as Heard?

Again, there's no evidence on any of those videos of WHEN a whistle blew. You can't argue that the timing wasn't very quick between the tackle and the hit in question.
And again, if the play was over, what is Sendlein doing on this clip?

As for Sendlein, he dropped down to make a block but came right back up before he touched anyone because he realized the play was dead and the whistle had been blown. Don't try to make up something that Sendlein did not do.

@AggieBand2004, Actually I'm not a Big 12 or Texas fan. Nor am I a PAC-10, SEC, ACC, Big East, or Big-10 fan. I'm actually a TCU fan as well as a Mountain West and WAC fan. I detest the BCS because it isn't a fair system. TCU should have been playing Alabama in the NCG not Texas. As for all this MWC teams play weaker schedules, consider this, MWC teams are currently 3-0 in Bowl games this year. And will probably end up 4-1 or 5-0. The only MWC team I think might lose is Air Force in the AFB.
Houston may beat them but then again Air Force played a lot of teams close, even against TCU. However, that game was played in the snow with the temperature in the 20's. Otherwise, I think TCU would have won that game by 24 points and had they played Clemson on a nice day, instead of in the rain, I think TCU would have beat Clemson by 17 points or more. I honestly think TCU will beat Boise State by 21 points. TCU is actually so good that Oregon St. is going to play them on Sept 4, 2010.
And with 17 returning starters, you can bet TCU will be ranked in the Top 10 in next seasons preseason polls. Boise State has even inquired about playing TCU every year from now on. TCU inquired about putting Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech on their schedule. A&M and Texas turned them down. Gee, I wonder why. TT is interested but not for next season. They want to do a 2 year deal starting in 2011 with each team playing at home once. As for the Fiesta Bowl, I'll take TCU by 21+ points.

And a good majority of those students end up on full scholarships. Third, all of your so called facts and statistics come from secondary sources. Mine came straight from the University itself. You see, I learned how to do research properly. At UT you got the watered down version. "Just go on the computer and use Google." Whereas I was taught to go straight to the source when ever you can and rely on secondary sources after that. You failed at the project miserably. Always take the easy way out.

Texas Wesleyan University is a private college as I previously stated and is an NAIA university so their focus is different than that of the university's you mentioned. Their focus is to provide a top notch college degree to individuals while at the same time preparing them for Masters and Doctoral programs with a high degree of acceptance rates to other universities as well as Med, Law, and school and Doctorals in Edu.
As I previously stated, Texas Wesleyan is not trying to compete with schools like the ones you mentioned. Their focus is on providing a quality college education that will match up with any other university in and around Texas.Like I said, I will put my education and degree up against any ones any time, day, week, month, and year. Now, is that good enough for you? Because, it has gotten me into many doors and job offers over the years. I'm satisfied so it doesn't really matter what you think.
Have you ever heard of Wharton Business School, it is a very similar university. Like Wharton, TWU recruits some of the best college Instructors in the US and abroad. It all comes down to this, if your happy with the education you got at Texas A&M good for you. I am perfectly happy with the education I got at Texas Wesleyan University while it was quite expensive, I feel I got more than my moneys worth and I am happy. So, if your happy and I'm happy whats the point arguing over it anymore?

US News and World Report ranks consistently the top schools in the country. It's elite category of tier one schools consists of 128 universities. Among these schools are Harvard, Yale, Brown,, NYU, Rice, Vandy, UVA, Johns Hopkins, Notre Dame, MIT, Emory,....You get the picture....
Of those 128 elite universities, UT-Austin was 47. Texas A&M 61, tied with Fordham and Purdue. Baylor 80, TCU 110. Didn't once mention TWU, even in the less prestigious categories which there are four more.

this has been the most overblown hit in history due to this camera angle... there are several angles showing that this hit happens DURING the play... and colt was not walking off the field... that is Texas A&M's sideline... if you watch the longhorn helmet on this shot you clearly see that the play has not ended...

Of course the stadium will be full, it's college football. Bennshee just means that the rivalry is no where near what UT vs OU is. The players and fans hold the Red River Shootout as the biggest game of the year by far.
one good year for A&M doesn't mean anything. They are in a state with some of the best athletes in the US, they will have good seasons from time to time. And UT still has Mack Brown. Even UT cant win 10 games every year.

They begged them to stay because A&M was the only school holding UT and numerous other schools from joining the Pac-10 because A&M wanted to go to the SEC. A&M didn't want the PAC-10, so UT and the other schools wanted to preserve the Big 12 and the money that they had. It's economics, not based on a rivalry lol. Yes, the dirty hit is the reason they sometimes win games comment is exaggerative but I bet you will get over it and it only shows bias, not stupidity.

@cubertcu22 every football coach who has ever coached before will tell you not to take your helmet off on the field. for occasions just like this: you'll get smoked in the head without your helmet. thankfully kellen moore didn't go for his head. they will also say, after an interception, find the quarterback and put him on the turf. although it may or may not have been a late hit, it was very close either way. the other view is better because it shows that it was a split second difference.

In the NCG, I think both Texas and Alabama will not be that impressive but I pick Alabama by 3 points. Which will leave the coaches poll with a dilemma about voting for Alabama as the number 1 team in the country over TCU. The truth is the so called elite teams who say TCU plays a softer schedule but when asked about playing TCU they all say no. Isn't that surprising as well? In addition, TCU has the fastest team in the country on both sides of the ball. And the fastest team will beat you 75% of the time. Texas didn't want to play TCU and neither did Alabama. Urban Meyer flat out stated that, " he did not want to play TCU." And we all know why. When it came to who was going to play TCU all the so called Big boys wanted to take their marbles and go home. Everyone knows Chris Peterson pulls that shit every chance he gets and there was no excuse for Patterson to have not thought Peterson wouldn't have pulled it again. Andy Dalton did not play the kind of game he is capable of playing. TCU will be back next year and they will be better for the lessons learned.

Actually, the play was over when he began to take his helmet off. If you have ever seen the down field video of what actually happened you will see the Aggie DB intercept the ball and take two steps before the receiver tackled him and the play was whistled dead. That was when McCoy began to take his helmet off before being ear holed by Heard. Now, I know the Aggies don't want to admit that is what happened but I have seen the play split screen and that is exactly what happened.

#1 The downfield video you referenced only proves that it wasn't that late. The tackle was made 17 yds downfield from Heard and less than 2 seconds later, he did what defensive players are taught... go block the closest player, above the waist.
#2 There is no video available that has audible evidence of a whistle being blown.
#3 If the play's over, why, IN THIS VERY VIDEO, is Lyle Sendlein shown at the bottom of the screen, making a hit at the exact same time as Heard?

@AggieBand2004, Actually I'm not a Big 12 or Texas fan. Nor am I a PAC-10, SEC, ACC, Big East, or Big-10 fan. I'm actually a TCU fan as well as a Mountain West and WAC fan. I detest the BCS because it isn't a fair system. TCU should have been playing Alabama in the NCG not Texas. As for all this MWC teams play weaker schedules, consider this, MWC teams are currently 3-0 in Bowl games this year. And will probably end up 4-1 or 5-0. The only MWC team I think might lose is Air Force in the AFB.

Houston may beat them but then again Air Force played a lot of teams close, even against TCU. However, that game was played in the snow with the temperature in the 20's. Otherwise, I think TCU would have won that game by 24 points and had they played Clemson on a nice day, instead of in the rain, I think TCU would have beat Clemson by 17 points or more. I honestly think TCU will beat Boise State by 21 points. TCU is actually so good that Oregon St. is going to play them on Sept 4, 2010.

TCU inquired about putting Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech on their schedule. A&M and Texas turned them down. Gee, I wonder why. TT is interested but not for next season. They want to do a 2 year deal starting in 2011 with each team playing at home once. As for the Fiesta Bowl, I'll take TCU by 21+ points.

You see, I learned how to do research properly. At UT you got the watered down version. "Just go on the computer and use Google." Whereas I was taught to go straight to the source when ever you can and rely on secondary sources after that. You failed at the project miserably. Always take the easy way out.

Texas Wesleyan University is a private college as I previously stated and is an NAIA university so their focus is different than that of the university's you mentioned. Their focus is to provide a top notch college degree to individuals while at the same time preparing them for Masters and Doctoral programs with a high degree of acceptance rates to other universities as well as Med, Law, and school and Doctorals in Edu.

Their focus is on providing a quality college education that will match up with any other university in and around Texas.Like I said, I will put my education and degree up against any ones any time, day, week, month, and year. Have you ever heard of Wharton Business School, it is a very similar university. Like Wharton, TWU recruits some of the best college Instructors in the US and abroad. It all comes down to this, if your happy with the education you got at Texas A&M good for you. I am perfectly happy with the education I got at Texas Wesleyan University while it was quite expensive, I feel I got more than my moneys worth and I am happy. US News and World Report ranks consistently the top schools in the country. It's elite category of tier one schools consists of 128 universities. Among these schools are Harvard, Yale, Brown,, NYU, Rice, Vandy, UVA, Johns Hopkins, Notre Dame, MIT, Emory,....You get the picture....
Of those 128 elite universities, UT-Austin was 47. Texas A&M 61, tied with Fordham and Purdue. Baylor 80, TCU 110. Didn't once mention TWU, even in the less prestigious categories which there are four more.
