I saw her last week in a workshop in Frankfurt (Germany).

She's 81 by now and is still working with other Jazz musicians!!! It's clear, that her voice hasn't been untouched by age, but still...

that was really slow and i have a little singing group at school that sang this and it was much faster and we each had to do a verse solo in front of like 100 people and this version was different i didn't like it much.

No choir could give this song justice, but neither can this person.I hope a young choir singer gets the the real feel of what this song is about. You might have to leave some verses out. You might even think they are important verses, but then again just because they sound great doesn't mean they have value. Remember that verses were added and changed and have kept this beautiful song of love and pain alive for centuries. To all singers, put your heart and soul into it and your voice will follow

Yes same here. We are singing it for choir. But it is the same lyrics but we have a soloist that sings it then the chorus repeats it so it is kinda of like an echo

kind of a jazz treatment, like mac the knife, each chorus up a semitone, to prove to everyone that you can do it.

a lot of tasty bits on piano and bass, bit too much gravy and savvy.
