@MsCleo55 In fact, the water tower cozy was disassembled after its time on the water tower and turned into blankets for the homeless, distributed through Warm Up America! Foundation.
Boy, there are certainly some angry people in this world- calm down haters. This was a fun project to put on one of the thousands of towers in the city- way to add some interest to the skyline. Good that the blankets are being made. And Robyn is simply a nice person.
The project was actually done by an advertising agency called TAXI for the D&AD as a way to promote the D&AD's awards show.
Their video can be found on the D&AD's youtube channel. Would recommend checking it out. Would post the link, but you can't post links in these youtube comments. Since this is my first post, I haven't figured out a way around it yet.
And freya - now that the project is complete, the plan is to take all the material and convert it into blankets for those less fortunate :)
I Love Lion Brand products, but i have to say, that in this year of ice and snow, how much better to have put that material to good use; making sweaters or blankets for those less fortunate.
To me, this counts with that daffy woman who crocheted a cozy around a derelict gas station. A total waste of valuable material and time.
Just think of the clothing that could be made from all that yarn....I am sure it would cloth many in need.
It was however a strange project!

I do wish this video included a still photo of the completed project in good lighting.

Good job editing the film, too.

Just looked...it's hard to find D&AD's video...
To see it, search "Make It a Pencil New York".
Or you can find D&AD's channel by searching "D&AD Awards."

This wasn't totally for Lion Brand. It was mainly done for D&AD. It just happened to be done with Lion Brand's yarn.

I don't think so! As an artist, Robyn does a lot of worthwhile projects for the community! Her House Museum in Newfoundland is one of them.

It wasn't a waste of time and materials. After they took the cozy down, the disassembled it to make blankets for the homeless.
