That is because Diaz will take too much punishment early. With a slick boxer, Diaz is not guanateed that he will hit the other guy.

You're dead wrong Gomi fought at 155, there'd be no reason for him to fight at 140, he's a natural 155 pounder.
If you notice at the end of RD 1 Diaz started to really catch noons with some of those punches. It's the accumulation of punches that wear people down.
Noons is a slick boxer but if you watch the fight Diaz started to land. He's not a slick as you're thinking.

And as I said before Diaz wins because an accumulation of shots. For example watch his fight against marius zaromskis and takanori gomi. In both fights he was knocked down then came back to win because of all the shots he landed.

Boxing is an important aspect of MMA that alot of mixed martial artist don't use that well. And lidell wasn't a great boxer he had alot of power.
Look at rampage Jackson he's a pretty good boxer has solid take down defense but has no kicks and ground game. So When it does go to the ground and in alot go cases it will eventually his chances go down greatly. It takes the whole package like GSP has. Toney could do well if he can stay on his feet and avoid kicks.

Honestly I think Nick Diaz will even this one up when they meet again either with a head kick or submission victory. He knows what he needs to do to beat Noons.
