Yes, and no. "Gundam Origin", which is based on a manga of the same name, will apparently follow the main plot points of the original TV series. However, the mobile suits will be graphically updated with additional weapons. For example, the RX-78-2 Gundam will have a vulcan pod located near it's right shoulder, as well as an optional cannon that can take the place on of its beam sabers. Still, it'll be great to see a modern version of Amuro vs Char fights.

Gundam Unicorn takes place in the original timeline of gundam called

Universal Century (U.C 0000)

first ever gundam series took place in U.C 0079

Gundam_Z took place I think in U.C 0086 or 0087

GUndam_zz took place in U.C 0088 to 89

Gundam Chars counter attack took place in U.C 0093

and

Gundam Unicorn takes place in U.C 0096

They don't necessarily continue the timeline of the universal century, but they will probably go back and flesh out some other events earlier in the timeline than Gundam Unicorn. Plus they'll keep making new alternate timelines to keep us busy!

you' re right. English cast for Zeta sucked. MSG Char's voice was ok, but I preferred CCA Char's voice a lot more. And this Full Frontal voice is quite good too. And I really like Marida's english voice. Really fits the character, unlike Audrey's voice which sounds a little too feminine in English.

You're a noob, aren't you? In the Universal Century, the great war is known as the "One Year War", followed by Operation Stardust, then the Gryps Conflict, then First Neo-Zeon War, the Second Neo-Zeon War, and now this conflict in Unicorn Gundam. All the Gundam standards and cliches came from the original Universal Century timeline. Everything else (e.g. Gundam Seed, Wing, 00) is just a rehash of the original. For example, google "Char clones"

G and Turn-A, for example, are very different, and the first season of 00 eschews many traditional Gundam tropes altogether.

haha i knew Audrey was really Minerva Zabi the baby girl from the original Gundam 0079 she is Dozal Zabi's daughter. haha this is why U.C. is the best there is so much build up to everything. The Alternate Universe Gundam series try to cram it into 50 episodes and usually fail (Gundam seed/destiny)
