dmellow45, i completely agree with you on this point, but you also must consider who they must commit diplomatic relations with, the Taliban. The Taliban believe that every thing in the, and produced by the west is evil and must be destroyed. This is not a reason to go to another country and enforce laws by any means, but many attacks in western country do originate from the Taliban leaders in Afghanistan. So even though i agree with what you are saying, i just dont think its possible currently.

its because the taliban make millions selling opium,and with that they buy weapons,ammo and other suplies and pay there fighters,if you take away there source of income then they cant afford as much,plus 90% of herion on the uk's streets comes from afghan

i also support our troops but we cant allow heroin to be produced. i think the afghan govt should give licenses to make it for medicine but illegal heroin for recreation is a NO NO!!!
Anthnau, I know what your saying about the villagers income but the coalition is providing other sources of income for them by teaching them to grow other crops, and with more and more electricity being provided to more home in Afghanistan other work with better income and less risks will be available to them.
