"Horsepower sells cars, Torque wins races." And with the APR Stage 1 chip you are right at 300 ft/lbs on 93 oct. pump gas. The GTI is lighter and quicker than those heavy ass, American-made, next gen camaros and mustangs. You have to drop serious cash either ON a factory souped up mustang/camaro or put it IN the car for it to be worthwhile.

@APRVideos On the second run it looks like your camera was in some type of low light mode to compensate for the headlights not being on so as to not attract attention. It was just a crack at that even if the run was on a public road, you would probably want to put "closed track" for legal reasons.
@bigyankee86 I made the movie in iMovie which is pretty crappy when it comes to the auto color adjustment settings. I'm guessing I just didn't do a good job of editing the color. The video is also really cropped down so it only showed the gauges and not the drivers head so it didn't have the best resolution.
Also you can tell its day light by the reflection on the RPM tac. See how bright it is? It's just crappy color adjustments in iMovie.

@alexaysonfire The DSG is pretty strong. We had one stage 3 customer who put over 80k on his with stage 3. He only ran 100 octane race gas mode and drag raced it with slicks all the time. In house we have several high mileage stage 3 DSG's. Also around the world we have tons of customers with stage 3 DSG's w/o issue.
@igottafc Because it's a loaded dyno that runs though the run only as fast as we tell it to run. IE, if we say we want the sweep to be 15 seconds long, it will be 15 seconds long just like it would on the road (not 4 seconds like some dynos).
Other dynos you see just blast though the rollers as fast as possible. This is not an accurate way to read power. A longer sweep will naturally cause more heat (just like on the road) and will report more of a real world number.
An Evo Stock is challenge for the GTI even with a mild turbo upgrade. AWD helps off the start. Also don't forget you can only put so much HP on a FWD car. Aerodynamics, car weight, and gear ratio also have an effect on overall out come as well as the driver skill.
This was shot on the street. You can easily tell it was shot on the street by watching the sun and light move over the gauge as it went around a curve.
The car is on a dyno at the end of the video to show the power it created.

APR, wow. You guys are amazing. I'm shopping now between GTI MVI (manual) and the Mazdaspeed 3. I currently own an '04 RX8 with engine mods - do you guys do mazdas? But with this as an option, I may go VDub. Don't think Mazda has a tuner to upgrade like this beast.
We actually don't have anything for mazdas. In the US we primarily focus on VW, Audi and Porsche. Over seas we also work with SEAT and Skoda. From time to time we'll also get involved with a few other brands in the VAG family but those are our main brands.
If you go with a GTI MK6, look us up. We already have a pretty big lineup of products. :-)
Absolutely. The customer sent us his engine, we built it and threw it in one of our "test shell" vehicles we have laying around the office. Essentially it was a 100% oem vehicle except for our obvious upgrades under the hood.
The engine was then shipped off to a sexy race car we dubbed the 'supercopa' killer as he was racing agains SEAT Supercopas. :)

The stage 3 kit does not require any modifications to the engine internals. The only time we require an upgrade is to the rods if you plan to use our 100 octane file.
If you plan to run the 93 octane kit, all you need is a GTI 2.0T, APR Stage 3 kit and exhaust.

Fueling is an issue on this vehicle so boost is not much higher on the production 100 octane file. We are running below the factory MAP sensor limit. Timing is dramatically increased. For those who have upgraded their low side fueling system, and are able to keep up with fueling demands, we do have higher boosting race files we have delivered to customers on a case by case basis. The engineers like to speak with the customer to let them know everything before we hand out something that powerful.
Not in this video. The engine was simply dropped into an 06 package 1 GTI. The car was fully intact. The engine was then removed and sent to Dubai along with one of lead Mechanics for instillation in a race car.

This isn't your average build. This is a full motorsport build. It starts with the full APR Stage 3 kit, intercooler, and exhaust system. We are preforming extensive work on the head, cams, and intake manifold. There are many more modifications inside the engine to save on rotational mass. The crank is modified and rebalanced. The upgraded rods are further modified by us. The upgrade pistons are also modified and coated. The tuning is custom to race league req. All build in house and supported.

This is a production APR Stage III kit using the gt2871r.
We dropped the compression slightly by throwing in lower compression rods which allowed for significant timing advance. We also put in Schick cams and did a small bit of head work. This allowed for the turbo to spool even faster.
The the only major calibration change from our stage 3 software was timing advance. The vehicle was still running only around 20lbs of boost.
The engine was crated and sent to our customer in Dubai.

It's only running a little above 20psi.
Our Stage III kit requires no internal upgrades unless you plan to run the race fuel files. If you do, then you'll need to upgrade your rods.
For this engine build, yes, you absolutely need to upgrade engine internals. The rods and lower compression pistons are a must.
The boost you see with your stock turbo is fine.

For those who have upgraded their low side fueling system, and are able to keep up with fueling demands, we do have higher boosting race files we have delivered to customers on a case by case basis. The engineers like to speak with the customer to let them know everything before we hand out something that powerful.

Not in this video. The engine was simply dropped into an 06 package 1 GTI. The car was fully intact. The engine was then removed and sent to Dubai along with one of lead Mechanics for instillation in a race car.

isnt that a bit steep.... i was thinkign turbo kit is 7.5k, internals would be 1.5kish, then exhaust another 1k from apr, but labor is that intense????? crazy

This isn't your average build. This is a full motorsport build. It starts with the full APR Stage 3 kit, intercooler, and exhaust system. We are preforming extensive work on the head, cams, and intake manifold. There are many more modifications inside the engine to save on rotational mass. The crank is modified and rebalanced. The upgraded rods are further modified by us. The upgrade pistons are also modified and coated. The tuning is custom to race league req. All build in house and supported.

HaroGTI, I'm sorry, I responded about 4 times but it appears it never actually posted.
This is the APR Stage III kit with 436 whp. It's running lower compression and is not even running hither boost than the production kit.

This is a production APR Stage III kit using the gt2871r.
We dropped the compression slightly by throwing in lower compression rods which allowed for significant timing advance. We also put in Schick cams and did a small bit of head work. This allowed for the turbo to spool even faster.
The the only major calibration change from our stage 3 software was timing advance. The vehicle was still running only around 20lbs of boost.
The engine was crated and sent to our customer in Dubai.
