They are known to Japan as Shoujo Jidai, which means the same thing, and the English speaking world as Girls' Generation. I've seriously grown to love these girls, I discovered them when they still sang just Korean-songs, which are REALLY good btw! I recommend you check out Run Devil Run, Oh!, Genie (Korean version this time), Gee (Korean version again) which are more or less their most popular songs. My personal favourite is Run Devil Run =P A REALLY good way of getting to know the girls individually is to watch "Hello Baby". It's a reality program about bringing up kids with SNSD as the mums =]
