  • Nope.avi

  • awesome stuff!

  • okay, but why use pressure to create pressure?!i mean you are using an electrical aircompressor to pump the fluid.why not use an electrical pump and forget about this device?

does not make sense in my eyes...

  • @GIwillo its for fun, do you really think ever time he wants a drink he goes turns on the air compressor hooks up the lines fills and prims the pump and sets his glass under it and waits till its full, lol

  • Excellent contribution! Regards from Buenos Aires!

  • Love the video, it really helps demonstrate the dual features of the Tesla Turbine/Pump! I have some questions for you:

    1. How much did it cost you to make both those turbines/pumps?

    2. What supplies did you use for the disks?

    3. What size electric motor would run that little pump? I'm trying to find one that would run off medium to small-sized solar power.

    4. Do different viscosity liquids/oils (ex. motor oil) require different speeds to pump?

    5. Can you make a vid pumping motor oil pleeease?

  • shut up...!

  • sounds like the dude from primus...sons a bitch

  • the names gump....forest gump

  • thats awsome can you send me some plans? i am trying to make a turbine

  • PlasmaStar9 I'm from austin (not that it really matters) but where did you get your parts sourced and fabbed?

  • yo hans navarro machaga, estoy contento por su esfuerzo de trabajo.me gustaria compartir ideas con esta persona.(navarrito_351@)

  • your pump is cavitating... as shown by the air bubble at the inlet of the pump. Use a higher liquid column to avoid that. Then you should post the efficiency of the pump.

  • lol sounds like he says "running at about 20psi on the turban" lmao.

  • can it pump gas? =0

  • nice work! your voice makes me feel like i'm watching a baseball game on tv!

  • Holy crap it's over unity!!! see?! The koolaid is replenishing itself!!! FREE ENERGY!!! oh wait...

  • why did u gotta dump the kool aid on the table? u could have drank it! (i would have stuck the tube in my mouth and drank it right outta the pump.

  • that works mahtee fahn

  • real nice. like the setup

  • "Whats a Tesla pump? Well its a Turban in reverse"...... Um... No, its not a Dirka Dirka Turban in reverse... but i could see it being a TUR-BINE! (Thumbs up)

  • A turban is some sort of Middle eastern head dress,... I think you mean a turbine.

Otherwise you have a very tidy little demo rig there. Unless of course maybe you are going to pipe Cool Aid into your house. :-)

  • hey coolaid! OH YAHH!!!!

  • That is amazing! Can it make espresso? Seriously, amazing demo. Thanks for the video!

  • i would make a pitcher that has the setup built in, add a valve to the exaust, so i could have a little pump to fill a cup from the pitcher

  • Yee haw, i love it!

  • you have too much time ....

  • hahahahhahah yeah i agree.. TEsla didnt see rasberry coolaid coming.. well, he invented so many things, or maybe he invented that too, wait..

  • Are you sheriff Rosco?

  • turban?

  • what are the advantages of this kind of pump?

  • You've got a voice for radio.

  • My favorite part is when you get rid of the "evidence"

  • IF you used liquid to drive the turbine (such as a thin oil for example) will it work more efficiently, or does the fluid have to be compressible for it to work?

  • @AgentCROCODILE Oil and water are essentially incompressible. "thin" refers to a small viscosity (shear strength, dtau/dy)

  • are you a flight attendant?

  • you would think that, with what you spent on fabrication and magnets you would come up with a more practicle application you for a tesla turbine, I mean maybe if this could be applied to oil rigs it would it be a viable economicly..... its like using a 8 cylider engine to run off the alternater a flash light to power a photovoltaic cell...catching butterflies with bulldozers.

  • Your accent in combination with this vid reminds me of Trip from Star Trek Enterprise.

    /mebeinganerd

  • whoa beer pumper X] jk

  • Good way to pump flammable items im sure...Since theres no electricity anywhere in here, Just air :)

  • squeel boy..

  • im glad i have place to sleep at night , warm, and have a shower available

  • the suger will stick up the pump

  • so fill it with soapy water, who gives a fuck?

  • turburn

  • SWEET juice/vid/idea keep going on all your ideas AND POST THEM please

    5 stars

  • bad voice

  • just scrap the so called Tesla pump and make a centrifugal pump with 5 blades then you'll don't know what hit you with those rpm's

  • would this work with hydralic oil or would that be too dense?

  • You can use tesla turbines to pump hydraulic oil.

You can even pump solids suspended in liquid. Provided the solid particles are small enough to fit between the disks.

  • Nice video man, where could I buy the small turbine (the pumping one) or do you have a diagram or close view video? thanks a lot.

  • Hey man, why not make the smaller turbine drive the larger one?

  • just becuase the smaller one driving the bigger one will be the same amount of energy. it wont make a difference on the RPM of the turbines but the smaller one is more efficient at pumping the liquid.

  • nicestuff pstar nueve!!!! what about the leak?

  • Not a problem Neto. Kool Aid is cheap

  • ahow are you poweing the turbine? Air?

  • Yep. Air

  • What is your accent? I liked it. Is it texan accent?

  • Accent? What Accent? Actually it is nice to know that there are people out there intelligent enough to know the difference between a Texas backwoods drawl and a drunk. Thanks.

  • @PlasmaStar9 i'm forest, forest guuuuump from bubba gump shrimp

  • @brijeshchauhan im also from texas i currently am in dallas and i know what you mean

  • great stuff 5 stars

  • Tur-bine... not tur-ban.

  • lmao hes abit of a cunt tbh eh?!

  • agreed lol

  • Excellent video! 5 stars. God Damn I love Kool-Aid

  • will it pump bull piss?

  • Why not just connect the shafts directly and use car exhaust to run it instead of a compressor and you got yourself a turbocharger

  • this would work with out the need of constint air presurize it and since air floats on top of air the liquid is forced down into the input pipe and going through the turbine into the main thing full of liquid

  • he more sounds likes a stoned one rather selfish psycho

  • nice man! how did come up with all the plastic parts? pro looking project

  • you sound like a selfish psycho

  • You need to throw a combustion chamber on and connect that back to the inlet of the turbine, just like a turbojet.

  • lol he sounds like a flight attendent!!!

  • @Seppouku359 no he sounds like mr.rodgers...

  • notice that the buble of air going into the pump enters at the same time that the flow of liquid falls to the container

  • I wonder if these pumps might have good medical applications, perhaps for plasma, blood, etc? If they work at lower RPMS maybe they are easy on the blood cells?

  • A telsa pump would be ineffective (notice in the video it has to get some speed up to start pumping)

Don't peristaltic pumps work well enough then?

  • free energy you dumb bitch

  • I think this is just built for fun :)

  • maiden voyage... it dint go further from the table yakidi! yack!

  • People like you do not deserve to live.

  • What happend? "Little" Serbian gave you homework?

  • Comment removed

  • Oh, by the way, isn't it possible for the fluid to draw itself up the pipe under the effects of inertia and negative pressure once some momentum has been applied, and the fluid falls from the top under the effect of gravity?

    Wow, I really am intelligible.

    :P

  • LMAO - even if they drive a Ford?

  • Well if they drive a ford, and they cut me off at a roundabout? hell yeah, I'm still gonna be on the horn at them.

  • whats a turban? i do believe its what certain religious groups wear.

i will not refer to them as some more commonly known phrases as that constitutes as racism and I'm not racist, as i hate all people equably.

  • hehe I think he means "turbine"

    - rofl, you "hate all people equally?" Well put ;-)

  • Its turbine not turburn

  • Sta je bilo?Tesla vam dao domaci zadatak.

  • very cool. please keep the vids coming...

  • I like how you make it visible with the acrylic. great demo

  • yummmmmm

    rasberry cool aid

  • Did you notice if the cool aid started to heat up?

  • fuken okey

  • It's just me? or every video of a Tesla turbine is made on the southern US (accent)

  • i could really care less, but what are you insinuating?

  • It looks like the care more about it. Also I've seen a lot southern accent videos about trying to make alternative energy... (I'm not "racist" or w/e if that what you thought)

  • I'd attribute it to a proclivity for the south to search for sustainability or a survivalist mindset. After all they were decimated by the Empire at Washington DC after the Civil War. Something like that doesn't leave a society unchanged.

  • That or that there are a lot of engineers in the South these days. Remember NASA based in the South and a lot of research has moved to the sunbelt over the past 40 years or so.

  • yall crazy yankees...lol

I guess just a little more free time here in the south. Myself is experimenting with electromagnetic fields. We are all great Americans! north and south.

    God bless.

  • Since the turbine can run off liquids as well as gas have you considered modifying this setup to have the pump's exhaust pressurize and run into the inlet of the turbine? With the right configuration I could see this easily becoming a perpetual motion machine.

  • More efficient, perhaps, but friction makes perpetual motion impossible.

  • at least when dealing with physical matter.

  • Forces interact, too.

  • Perpetual motion deal with electromagnetism not tesla turbine. There cannot be absolute zero friction but relative frictionless motion which can be achieved through antigravity technology. Perpetual motion is an obscure concept, how long do you need th emachine to run? If coldfusion is used then you can run a turbine for millions of years using only tons of heavy water.

  • zero point energy eh?

  • Is it possible to use liquid to instead of air to run the turbine?

  • yes

  • very nicely done. Looking forward to see your other videos. As for the negative comments, well I do not understand them so it's better to ignore and forgive their ignorance.

  • Nicely done. Can't wait to see Tesla's inventions put to more widespread use.

  • I don't know much about hydraulics or mechanics. I'm just a fan of technology. been wondering if tesla's turbine and pump could be modified to function as a CVT transmission.

never seen this pump design before, but the little i can understand from this invention shure shows a lot of potential for a CVT.

    thanks for posting this.

  • It can be used as CVT transmission. so long as you have proper torque management. you have a good idea and it may be worth going after. good luck.

  • run the pump discharge in the turbine and let it run for hours

  • His Voice Remind Me Of Forest Gump At 1.04sec

  • You've done a good job with the construction and the demo.. I don't understand all the negative comments... this is a simple informative video showing turbine operation.

Please message me, and we can discuss the efficiency and uses of the device.

  • I have to agree. This is a neat device invented by a great scientist. Yet I see so many bad comments, which are totally unnecessary.

  • @CharlieMacklin1 Don't message.

Discuss ALL HERE so that others may learn.

IS this especially effficient in any way?

Does not appear so, and that is what matters along with durability and ease of maintenance and repair.

  • Gunz

You stick it UP YOUR ASS!!

    turn around. I'll show you!

  • This is a great way to increase water pressure with just 120 psi of air.

  • Very impressive and a lovely demonstration of a fantastic and little used invention. Thankyou for sharing this PlasmaStar9. I will have to build myself a setup like this sometime!

  • Beautiful examples of the Tesla Turbine and pump. Thanks for posting... truly inspirational!

  • shouldve pumped some koolaid into a glass...

So what does this mean? you convert air energy into mechanicle energy and if you attach a generator you can make electrical energy? how efficient would this be and how much electricity could you produce? could you produce enough energy to have leftovers to enegize an air compressor to keep it running forever? well, after the initial start...

  • Wrong.

  • Nikola Tesla was a Genius. Check out.google.

  • lmao tesla turban

  • rasbery cool aidd

  • NOW I WANTS SOME KOOL AID

  • its turbine not tubin

  • "Today we're doing the experiment outside, in case of catastrophic failure..."

LMAO that must have been your wife's idea ;)

    Cool turbine

  • lol pumping raspberry cool-aid

  • lol pumping raspberry cool-aid

  • man it leaks more than it pumps!

  • how can this design benefit us more than a standard turbine? what was the purpose of this turbine design?

  • simpler, cheaper, more durable

  • doesn't seem more efficient though.

  • nope not the most efficient system available. But both the pump and turbine are very versatile, work on liquid and gas (or mix) without modification, are reversible, easy to make (compared to blades on a normal turbine), and can be a bit more forgiving then blades too. But yes they have their uses, and can be found out there. And there are some cool variations in design for stable, cheap, variable speed wind generators too. Ingenious considering when it was invented.

  • hhmm whats the psi those can make?

  • On which? both the pump and turbine depend on disk size, amount of disks, housing design, amount of stages, resistance, and material being moved through them. I'm sure one would be able to find the proper calculations in various mechanical engineering texts.

  • @Nicko1024.. Hello, you mentioned "there are some cool variations in design for stable, cheap, variable speed wind generators too." can U send a link ? or title? Thank U.

  • Check out the TESNIC wind turbine system. Its still in development but it uses Vertical Axis Blades along with Disks that exploit the same boundry layer "surface adhesion" in a typical tesla turbine. It basically allows higher transfer of energy at lower speeds. Great for lighter weight residential systems which usually don't tend to have optimal wind conditions. Too bad its not in production yet...I'd love to buy one.

  • mm lets make it so we can be even lazyer and pump our waffel sirup insted of a squeezy bottel!! and coolade rules!

  • lol outside incase of catastrophic failure!

  • 5* for the disclaimer at the end

the pump was cool too! :-)

  • It would be cool if you could post a video showing how to build one of these turbines.

what material is it made from and how did you make the mold?

    Nice.

  • I think a car turbo looking turbine would be more efficient. Any 1 agree?

  • step by step

  • And its positive displacement...

  • This guy is unbearable to listen to. Like... really irritating.

  • Yet somehow, someway, life goes on...

  • cool accent , just like in the movies

  • TESLA IS FUTURE

  • i think there is a lot of corertial aplication for the tesla terbine

  • lol I like this guy

  • pdiddyjack....nope you're wrong. He's pronouncing it correctly. Tur-bin.

  • Only if your an american. The rest of the world says tur-byn.

  • Nice try but not quite correct. The spanish and portuguese speakers say turbina where the i is pronounced with a long e sound...but does this really matter?

To the original poster - nice vid showing both modes of the tesla turbine/pump in operation. The nice added touch was your demonstration illustrating that the difference between the two is how the inflow and outflow are configured.

  • Its great that you know so much about the tesla turbine.... it almost makes me forget how you forgot your first grade grammar. (Tur-Byn)

the e makes the vowel (i) "say its name" looool

    but enough teasing... cool vid

  • I've got a great idea, put the mix into the water, then instead of mixing it by hand, use this turbine!

  • It was the frist time i seen this tesla turbine, its cool, i like more the pump. Question.. does the shaft spin faster if you had like a "fan" turbine and you put the air stream directly.

  • I know it was sarcasm, but just wannted to put the theory about the motors... and please, if you want to invent a great machine, go to school and then you post your ideas u.u...

  • what is fucking point of this?

  • That he can, and you can't... I feel cheated.

  • Heck. Here's an even easier one. Take 2 little DC electric motors. Hook the wires from one to the wires on the other. When you spin the shaft on one it gererates an electric current which causes the shaft on the other to spin as well. If you connect the shafts together with a flywheel and give it a spin they should keep going, right? You should be able to have this setup running in a couple of hours, and tomorrow you will be the richest man on earth.

  • jaja would be cool, but of coarse you cannot do that.. theres a loss of magnetic force when you spin a generator-motor, so the power you put not equals the out one, then the wires in the coil has resistance, so you loose power in heat form.

  • Hehehe...I tried exactly this when I was 8 y.o. (almost 40 years back)...oh to be young and naive again! It is a perfect experiment for people with over-unity desires!

Ideas from tesla and others like this were not given as much attention as they deserved for what they were, simple great ideas that worked.

This is a great idea of elegant simplicity, inspiring. If only more people would use such models to explain things like this actually working, there would be a lot less "green greed" about!

  • what if you pump the liquid into the turbine?

The pump would run the turbine and the turbine would run the pump.

you would need to build the pump to accommodate the turbine or vice versa,

am I crazt or would it work?

  • If the turbine and pump were 50% efficient, which I'm sure they are not, you lose 50% of your energy to heat, friction, or whatever. You have to make up that loss continuously from an outside source like air or steam. They cannot be self sustaining. Would be nice.

  • how could it lose 50% efficientcy.

If the turbine spins, it pumps to the turbine with no loss.

If the pump supplies liquid and the same rate, it spins the turbine with no loss.

    Where is the lose?

Even if there where heat how dose that keep the pump from suppling the liquid, or the turbine from suppling the spin.

  • its called "entropy" "exergy".... you could do what you thinked.... but its very not usefull, ok first you connect the two how you thinked, know what you need to do es put that fluid in motion so you need an electric pump, because if is not runing you wouldnt be moving the turbine in the first place

  • your crazt. very very crazt
