This attitude is usually from people that only care about winning instead of just playing the game because it's fun. It's basically why I chose to stop playing competitively. Honestly, Spamming is bullshit. Sure, you can beat it if you know what your doing, but it just isn't FUN to fight someone doing it. Usually though, I have cap'n america on my team to deal with spammers. Gotta love his charging and Hyper charging star cutting through damn near EVERYTHING projectile related, even supers. Regardless, its a game, and people can play how they want, whether it be by getting sweet combos, or by button mashing energy blasts the entire match.
I don't like doing this because it's not fun, but when it's used against me I have no problem in accepting my defeat. If it's in the game, it's fair to me. If you can't get around spammers it's your own damn fault. Getting around this should be one of the first things you learn in the game since almost every character with projectiles and air projectiles has the potential to be played this way.

@BombCragged I disagree. Trust me, I've met some players who sat down and PRACTICED spamming to perfect it so I couldn't move even with a flying character/someone who teleported. Fighting games aren't perfect. Sometimes there really are exploits that most players simply can't get around.
On that note, beating spammers is much easier in UMvC3.
Yeah I agree, people who zone in umvc do so because they lack the understanding of priority and hitbox. Its called crutch tactics, and thats why when pro players base pro tactics, around crutch tactics, they become really annouying to fight. Such as all the pro's in SSF4ae wiffing normals to try and catch you slipping while they walk around to fuck up your hitbox spacing. At the end of the day its just crutch, dont fall for it. just watch and learn.

@hunter423 In fighting games I find that the idea is that you do anything and everything to win regardless of how it looks. This attitude is usually from people that only care about winning instead of just playing the game because it's fun. It's basically why I chose to stop playing competitively. I just wasn't having fun anymore.

Honestly, Spamming is bullshit. Sure, you can beat it if you know what your doing, but it just isn't FUN to fight someone doing it. Usually though, I have cap'n america on my team to deal with spammers. Gotta love his charging and Hyper charging star cutting through damn near EVERYTHING projectile related, even supers. Regardless, its a game, and people can play how they want, whether it be by getting sweet combos, or by button mashing energy blasts the entire match.

I don't like doing this because it's not fun, but when it's used against me I have no problem in accepting my defeat. If it's in the game, it's fair to me. If you can't get around spammers it's your own damn fault. Getting around this should be one of the first things you learn in the game since almost every character with projectiles and air projectiles has the potential to be played this way.

If you can't deal with the zoning, you're just really bad. That other guy had two characters that can easily teleport to gain ground, he didn't do it. If your opponent is going to be a dumbass and do nothing but take the arrows, then why the hell would you change your strategy?

@TheBloodedge92 any good zero buster switches, so they have access to all of their buttons, and it isnt just those 4 characters that task and mags have trouble with, those are just some of the characters that give them more trouble than other characters i didnt mention, and i appreciate the anti haggar tip, i just wave dash under him and hit him from behind while he is landing, and task shield skill is stupidly unsafe on block, so you can just punish it with most moves, or grab punish

Foot Dive has priority. those are pure physical moves that OP almost all others in the game. dont label Zero, Dante, Vergil, or Taskmask(except 4 Shield Skills and Mighty Swing which have OP priority btw) along with the likes of Ryu or Wolvy.why do you think alot of ppl hate sword characters? cus against a physical character they can swing all they want & can wry less about trades

@TheBloodedge92 mags in a strong rush down character by nature, and doom is one of those characters that can do both equally well, and the only way to beat zero, the king of herp a derp priority, is to rush him down and not let him move, think about it like this, if your arthur, do you really want someone like sentinel akuma wolverine or zero near you? no, because if you let them get near you, they are gonna blow you up for free, there is no "right" way to play this game

@BombCragged I disagree. Trust me, I've met some players who sat down and PRACTICED spamming to perfect it so I couldn't move even with a flying character/someone who teleported. Fighting games aren't perfect. Sometimes there really are exploits that most players simply can't get around.
On that note, beating spammers is much easier in UMvC3.

Yeah I agree, people who zone in umvc do so because they lack the understanding of priority and hitbox. Its called crutch tactics, and thats why when pro players base pro tactics, around crutch tactics, they become really annouying to fight. Such as all the pro's in SSF4ae wiffing normals to try and catch you slipping while they walk around to fuck up your hitbox spacing. At the end of the day its just crutch, dont fall for it. just watch and learn.

you can't call pressing 2 or 3 buttons at once art, thats fucking stupid. to be able to do art is to be able to do something not everyone can do. last time i checked, anyone can spam projectiles and assists endlessly. i bet your win/loss % is under 50% and you never had a streak above 10

@MASTERSHAKE1557 i've played a few dark phoenix players who do the same thing. i usually punish by team hyper (phantom dance and amaterasu's element thing) just as she uses her homing fireballs. even if she blocks, chip takes away a good amount, and makes for an easier win than against a Sent, Doom match up. my team is wesker, iron man(any good assist character really), hulk/ammy. i rarely use wolverine seeing as he recieved heavy nerfs in ultimate
