  • The only problem with this kind of thing though, is that someone, somewhere is bound to try this - with the wrong settings - and get zapped! Still, you can't protect 'em all, can you.

This puts me in mind of the time I was Arc-Welding a truck chassis and as I was partly immersed in water I got a 'shock' in the form of a steady D.C. 'pulse'. It was amps - no volts to speak of - and because of that, I too am here to tell the tale. :-)

  • @Factnotfictionpeople Haha ya I know the feeling. I've had my fair share of getting shocked. We used to have a friend that had a pinball machine on their back patio and instead of putting in quarters to play we would just hot wire it to start up. Not too bad.....unless you just got out od the pool and tried doing it. That is one I'll never forget because it was a 110v straight off the house. Makes you grab and not let go. 220v zaps you and makes you jump back. stings more but for less time.

  • @lazyinaz91 And very true, can't protect them all. You can't fix stupid.

  • Amps and Volts, thats the secret - Amps and Volts! Impresses people though, eh?

  • @Factnotfictionpeople yup, i was just messing around. I wasn't grounded out to anything so I had nothing to fear. amperage is what kills people and higher volts just sting. this was just a little tickle on the finger....kinda. ok it was more than a tickle but hey, i'm not dead so who thats what matters.

  • Nice
