I know that old (3200years) fable, but most ethnologists give the creation of the Roman Empire to be due to the Etruscans, who had the advantage of being just up the boot, and a few Sabine women away. Romulus and Remus suckling a shewolf are in there somewhere. The founding of Rome (745 BC) took place 450 years AFTER Troy and Aeneas. Me and my history BA from USC.

But marching in front of the Colosseum is a great scene!

This is what I know from classes I've taken. The Aeneid is based on the Illiad. It says a Trojan prince sailed from the destroyed Troy and eventually ends up where Rome would be. He and his men settle around there and have children with the native people. Their descendants, Romulus and Remus come around to found Rome. Of course, I've heard that the Aeneid is fictional, and Augustus Caesar had asked Virgil to write it. Nevertheless, it still provides a link between Troy and Rome. (Imaybewrong.)

and another thing "DaniPower0" Cal's band sux! I remember when I was in college & was instructing drumlines to help pay for school I was offered to instruct/write for Cal's drumline. I took up the offer but after one month I said, "ENOUGH OF THIS $HiT!.. My ears can't take this anymore!" and it was pretty depressing to be around.. no precision or tradition like SC. The drumline had no definition on how to play a clean drum roll and the band sounded like & looked like they belonged in a circus.

I respect that, and I graduated from USC in 1990. Low SAT scores to get in? USC had Rhodes Scholars in 1989 and 1990. In 2006/2007 USC had NINE Fullbright scholars.
