  • The most awesome college marching band in the US! Fight on Trojans! How fitting you should march down the Appian Way playing Conquest! Too bad you couldn't have brought Tommy Trojan and Traveller with you!

  • they should have played this on the movie 300

  • @smoothhitman1 Hahahahaha!!!! I concur!

  • SC!

  • ALL HAIL USC!

  • The good people of Italy are lucky to hear such an awesome band!

  • If you dont like this then you are a UCLA fan and your opinion doesn't matter anyway. FIGHT ON!

  • FIGHT ON SC!!!

  • A Salute to TROY was a great thing to play! Fight On SC!

  • hmmm i barely noticed the trojans are from greece

  • @oneonta310 Actually, Troy is not Greek; it's a city on the coast of Turkey.

  • @apollyon379 i stand corrected

  • I think Conquest would be a more fitting song for a Trojan band to play while marching down the streets of Rome.

  • There is, without a doubt, no other college in the country to compare with U.S.C. I love em. Larry.

  • Some gaul to play that song in Rome...To play the song of the Trojans at the Roman Coliseum takes balls...They're lucky to walk out alive...

  • Is it just me or when i hear the word Coliseum i think TROY (USC) not ROME lol FIGHT ON!

  • Its one of fightsongs that really kinda strikes fear into you when you hear it. You really feel like the whole roman army is coming.

  • It makes so proud when I hear the sound of Troy!

  • @godsoldier2k3 Absolutely!!! Fight ON!!!

  • being there must have felt bad ass!!!

  • @gtz831 Anytime we watch the Trojans entering the Coliseum it is a true thing of beauty!!!

  • that would be cool if the Romans played this song in ancient Roman days in the Coliseum

  • That would have been a hands-down highlight of my vacation!

    Fight On

  • hahah went to ANOTHER country hahah and dominated! Go TROJANS! Fight On!

  • The only way this event could have been more epic is if the Spirit of Troy had followed up this song with 'Anvil of Crom' from Conan the Barbarian written by another USC grad, Basil Poledouris.

  • Hey director your from Imperial Mo? Im up north only a couple miles up in Arnold how coool

  • @captainmunch2001

"Fight On!" was composed by Dr. Milo Sweet, an orthodontist, in 1922.

  • It sounds like a triumphant army returning from battle!

Not a fan - but yes it is absolutely an awesome fight song.

I will admit that it is probably the best fight song I've ever heard.

I wonder who was the composer.

  • @captainmunch2001 Absolutely the best you shall ever hear my friend.

  • Haven't seen this vid in a while.... Love it. The American Trojan invasion LMAO Trojan Marching Band are really the most world famous college band.

  • HI guys, I am italian, even if not from Rome.I like all about DCI and Marching Bands.

I personally found this "invasion" fantastic!!

Unfortunately i wasn't there because i didn't know about that.

If there is anyway of USC Torjan MB who wants to keep in touch, write me.

    Thanks :)

  • now thats one way to march thru rome the right way with a usc marching band FIGHT ON!!!!!!!

  • I don't care what anybody says, epic team, epic band, epic song, epic mascot.

    Fight on USC!!!

  • @JamesSOCO2006 I COULDN'T agree with you more brother! FIGHT ON!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • GOD HOW FUCKING ANNOYING! I HATE THIS FUCKING MARCHING BAND!!!!

  • hey wheres the continuation?

  • this is so cool

  • they would have the money to do this...

  • Brian Kelly > Flame Kippen

  • @bhanz666 Guess what? Notre Dame still sucks lolol, and they just lost a five star recruit because of that kid that died.....Not saying it's good that he died, but Notre Dame sucks, and will always suck for now on....Reason: South Bend is a shit hole and no top recruits want to go to school there.

  • And the true Romans were saying.. WTF??????

  • @larrywanders probably laughing and thinking we did it better back in the day :)

  • Great!!

I've always loved Tribute to Troy...reminds of Ben Hur, perhaps the best movie soundtrack ever. I wish some budding musician would compose something with such a martial sound for the Sooners.

  • @Skep999 Castle Park High School (Trojans) in Chula Vista, CA (San Diego County) plays the traditional USC songs. But they also have a "Parade" song called "Parade of the Charioteers" that they play for street parades (as opposed to competitions). Look for these videos: Castle Park High School (You can hear 'em coming!) ♫♪♫♪♫ (it will be the second song). And: Castle Park High trojan brigade - parade

  • This is awesome! maybe the context is off but who cares!

  • @sosathegrunge2 the context is off by a continent but it's still fun to watch.

  • I like all the college marching bands, even -gags- Ohio State...oh god

  • BTW the Trojans were in Troy, Turkey, not Rome, Italy-

  • @nmcaia, BTW, read the Aeneid about Aeneas leading the remaining Trojans from Troy, to the banks of the Tiber at what would become Rome.

  • I know that old (3200years) fable, but most ethnologists give the creation of the Roman Empire to be due to the Etruscans, who had the advantage of being just up the boot, and a few Sabine women away. Romulus and Remus suckling a shewolf are in there somewhere. The founding of Rome (745 BC) took place 450 years AFTER Troy and Aeneas. Me and my history BA from USC.

But marching in front of the Colosseum is a great scene!

  • I hate USC with a passion! Big 12 fan here! Oklahoma Sooners to be exact, BUT I have to admit that USC has the BEST fight song in the history of NCAA football. This is an AWESOME video. I got GOOSEBUMPS!. I have already watched probably 10 times.

  • @packthepit

Wow, another Sooner who loves this. Maybe SC-OU next January in Glendale?!

  • @packthepit Fuck oklahoma usc trojans destroy your team anyday

  • @isaiah213 keep it classy USC! D-BAG!!!

  • @oohlalalaohhlala your mom is a d-bag

  • @isaiah213 you know i haven't heard that "your mom" comeback since grade school. USC breeds a very special type of d-bags. thats something to be proud of. really. just look at your alum matt leinart who just got CUT from the cardinals for being a worthless whining D-BAG BITCH!!! lets see how he does in texas.

  • @oohlalalaohhlala i bet he will do very well in texas but he won't cheat his way out of a football game like vince young did when he cheated USC out the 2005 bcs title so you can go eat a d-bag

  • @isaiah213 ok....where the hell did vince young come from? i didn't mention him AT ALL. SO SUCK IT YOU FUCKING DUMBASS!! HA!!!

  • @oohlalalaohhlala you didn't have to mention him he's just garbage like you

  • @isaiah213 hyugh hyugh good one hillbilly

  • @oohlalalaohhlala dude im black RETARD!!!!!!!!

  • @isaiah213 dude calm down. i didn't mean to make you cry.

  • @oohlalalaohhlala whatever eat a dick

  • @packthepit same and im an ohio state fan usc hater myself besides for the best damn band in the land i think usc puts plenty of work with their band

  • @packthepit SEC ftw

  • Nah, the only boring and lame one posting here is you. Learn some respect, you ill mannered geek.

  • i thinl usc should have all of there bowl games at the roman colleseum

  • They do- but the L.A. Colosseum.

BTW the Trojans were in Troy, Turkey, not Rome, Italy-

  • man i hate USC but i must admit this is pretty badass

  • The best fight song there is, and to see and hear it played outside the Coliseum - yes, the word awesome would be the one to use.

  • This is awesome.

  • This must be what the Trojan Man puts on when he is about to get laid.

  • You know it!

Why do you hear this song so often, you may ask? Now you know.

  • Fight On!

  • this is so cool GO TROJANS

  • LMFAO USC Fightin' On all around the world... gotta love it

  • Fighting Irish-World Wide

  • This video is epic win. 8D

  • Ok I am old and used to play in a Drum and Bugle Corp.. But if I won the lottery I would pay the USC marching band to let me march and play in it. You guys rock.

  • wow epic song and the marching fit perfectly

  • lol nice

  • hahahahahaha I bet those itianians are like WTF who are these people HAHAHAHA, but seriously Thats Bad Ass !!!!!

  • Spirit of anciente Rome? Rome and Troy are two separate things... the link between is just a legend and very flebile! Plus the "colosseo" has nothing to do with it...

  • If you read up on your mythology (the Aeneid), Rome was a descendant of Troy.

  • that's is so freaking awesome

  • you guys are friggen smug

  • @SideshowRob18

Yes we are, now make me a sandwich, bitch.

  • This is almost like a scene right out of Ben-Hur, with a modern twist.

  • Tribute to troy! "Ching boom!" Fight on!

haha..... for all u fellow usc Music peeps

  • to hear such a beautiful fanfare that sounds like something that might have been played in ancient Rome.

  • I'm sure the spirits of ancient Rome were smiling at this tribute!!

  • according to some historians...not making this up...

After Troy fell during the Trojan war, a handful of survivors escaped to Italy where they intermingled with the natives, and helped create what would become the city of rome or something along those lines.....

So Romans are decendents of Trojans...

  • In response to Ratboy808 - The Aenead by Virgil is written on the belief Aeneas of Troy founded Rome. Therefore within, the Trojans are the 'founders' of Rome, making this video all the more austere and poignant, and friggin' awesome, don't you think? Fight On! Win Forever!

  • No, you are incorrect. Roman folklore states that Rome was founded by Romulus after he killed his brother Remus. Besides, southern Italy had been occupied by the Greedks, the Etruscans in the North, and the Latins in the central. What few surviors there were after Troy was burned were very few and did not have the ability to sail through hostile waters to Italy.

  • From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Aeneid is a Latin epic poem written by Virgil in the late 1st century BC (2919 BC) that tells the legendary story of Aeneas, a Trojan who traveled to Italy, where he became the ancestor of the Romans. Hey Sager122469, go to any university of note, and argue this literary point, if you wish...Fight On!

  • This is what I know from classes I've taken. The Aeneid is based on the Illiad. It says a Trojan prince sailed from the destroyed Troy and eventually ends up where Rome would be. He and his men settle around there and have children with the native people. Their descendants, Romulus and Remus come around to found Rome. Of course, I've heard that the Aeneid is fictional, and Augustus Caesar had asked Virgil to write it. Nevertheless, it still provides a link between Troy and Rome. (Imaybewrong.)

  • @marym499 2 bad their not Roman's, there Trojan's.

  • This video, kinda takes me back about 2000 years.

Notice how even though they are marching away from the camera thiere isn't a problem with their volume.

Oh and by the way the only reason i ever watch a college football game is becuase of the USC band. I didn't go to USC i just love the big sound and there attiude.

  • They should get the sc football team down there, have them dominate in the coliseum like they do on the football field.

Bring back the old days lol, We Are SC,

    USC for life.

  • IN HOC SIGNO VINCES. TROJANS ! ! !

  • what a cool thing to witness...

    nice post andiamoveloceyovic!!

    great share Paul

  • Too cool!

  • Right after they played Neck right? lmao

  • This is so freakin' awesome!! I expect nothing less anyway because WE ARE 'SC!!!

  • That would be awesome to be in Rome and to see the USC band show up and play there fight song.

  • other teams piss there pants when that song comes on

  • USC marching band ROCKS!!

  • nothing better than seeing the USC Trojan marching band coming through the streets of Rome echoing that tremendously powerful fight song....Hail Cesar!!!!!! LOL ......USC ROCKS.........FIGHT ON !!!!!!!! :)

  • Thanks. Corrected in the YouTube text. Can't in the video. But I think the message comes across to most. Cheers.

  • The entrance of Caesar after smashing the First Triumvirate? :-P

  • Man I am glad I went to USC! We do rule. What can I say? I know that sounds bad, but the truth is the truth. I should have joined the band though! How much fun do they look like they're having!?!?

  • haha honestly, they look like a column spearheading an invasion army. If you were an Italian, and you saw some foreigners marching down the street, playing a vicious marching tune, what would you think?

  • lol USC is so awesome. Honestly, what other marching band would do this? It probably wasn't even planned. Just like, "Hey, guys, you wanna get up and march down the road? Why? Because we're freakin' USC!!!"

  • haha i wonder if those europeans even know what a marching band is... prolly thought it was a re-enactment lol jk. kick ass place to do that though. the only thing better would be Athens, Greece

  • I Love It!!. It's finally our turn to tell the world that we won't fall for a wooden horse a second time.

  • That was F-ing awesome!!!

The Greatest Band in the History of the Universe

The Spirit of Troy, The Southern California Trojan Marching Band

    Fight On! Trojan Nation

  • I WAZ THERE

  • I love it!!!!

  • and what a surprise the trojans are finally invading Rome, lol.

  • thats cool, all the way in Rome.

  • It's COLOSSEUM.

  • really? try again

  • Fuck this sound makes me wanna cream some foolz

  • makes you wanna put on pads and kick some niggas ass

  • Off to Battle! FIGHT ON!!! TROJANS #1 :)

  • was this from rome????

  • USC vs. Cal is becoming a new rivalry

  • What do u expect dumbass? It's their trademark sound that people know them for. It's kind of like if u go see AC/DC in concert u ""expect"" them to play "Back in Black." You don't go see them to play Madonna's songs. I was at Oakland airport 3 weeks ago and seen some dweebs.. a lot of them! and recognized they were members of the Cal Band. What the hell is up with the outdated straw hats & bad taste for band uniforms. Go sell some candy bars & raise money for new uniforms. LOL!

  • and another thing "DaniPower0" Cal's band sux! I remember when I was in college & was instructing drumlines to help pay for school I was offered to instruct/write for Cal's drumline. I took up the offer but after one month I said, "ENOUGH OF THIS $HiT!.. My ears can't take this anymore!" and it was pretty depressing to be around.. no precision or tradition like SC. The drumline had no definition on how to play a clean drum roll and the band sounded like & looked like they belonged in a circus.

  • by the way.. I absolutely love this video! I've got this same tune on my cell phone as a ring tone (the actual band playing it!) so I'm never far away from being reminded of SC's TMB! GO SC!

  • Fight on!!!!! Go Trojans! That would have been amazing to see!!!

  • Wow, did you guys ever learn how to glide step?? GO BEAVERS!!!

  • It was cool....But Famu or ntn....Greatest band in da land

  • FAMU? Absolutely--and not enough press. I'm a Trojan fan through and through. Love the Trojan band, but I'm here to second you that FAMU is out of this world. Anyone who gets to see this band, anywhere, anytime should do it!

  • Another Trojan who wholeheartedly agrees with you. FAMU band is off the freaking HOOK.

  • That's soooo Cool!!!!!!

  • FIGHT ON.

  • best band in america

  • great drumline

  • Go TROJANS!!!!! off to battle!!

  • FIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Love this! Showing our pals out in Europe the best marching band in college sports!

  • I love USC! At first when I saw the title of the video, "Ah, marching at the Coliseum near my home". And then once I clicked to see the video and read the message before seeing the Trojan band, my mind was totally blown away. Fight on, USC! The best college marching band of all-time representing the USA @ Rome, Italy in the original Coliseum.I'm sure all the Italians, non-Italian European tourists enjoyed & others this sight from America. Fight on!

  • The USC band may have been in Rome for the same reason it has played in Brazil, Australia, assorted Hollywood film premiers, music and film producers'parties, the Grammy awards, Disneyland, a music festival or two, backed a few bands such as OutKast and Fleetwood Mac. MAYBE THEY WERE INVITED.

  • bmkdunk: Why are you so impolite? USC, UCLA,UC Berkeley, and Stanford are all excellent schools in one area or another. UCLA's Depts. of Journalism, English, and Biology are amongst the best. I respect that, and I graduated from USC in 1990. Low SAT scores to get in? USC had Rhodes Scholars in 1989 and 1990. In 2006/2007 USC had NINE Fullbright scholars. There is not enough space here to list the intelligent, successful graduates of USC. Or of UCLA.Isn't education meant to enlighten people?

  • Fight on SC!!!

  • i must say.....from the other side of the country.....this video pumps me up....i could care less of USC....but the message that this sends is what gets me.....i feel like throwing on some pads and hitting someone....

  • Standing tall Worldwide.

  • The funny thing is watching the European tourists saying: "WTF!! We don't even have sports much less marching bands supporting them in our universities..."

  • Yeah - the Euros have NO IDEA what is going on. Well, maybe they've seen a few Hollywood movies (like 50) that Spirit of Troy has appeared in... Fight On!!!

  • Still waiting to own us in the Rose Bowl?

  • Get it right loser.FIGHT ON cal sucks

  • NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE!

  • UCLA also stands for U.Clowns.Lost.Again
