  • "and uh just tighten those bad boys" lol

  • hey clubcar98, would this mvideo also apply to macbooks before i try anything, or do you have no idea?

    pre-emptive thanks :D

  • thanks for the video. The tip helped me in fixing the hinge issue with my HP laptop

  • This worked!!! I could kiss your feet, dude.

  • I have a HP Pavilion dv6 laptop and the hinges are a little loose and I can't find the screws, what should I do?

  • My R400 Lenovo is having this kind of issue; if put at an angle it slams shut. Should I try this method or is there another option?

  • Thank you for making such an informative video. It encouraged me to tighten up my Fujitsu Siemens Amilo D8820 which had the wobbly symptoms you describe. The scariest moment was dissassembling the bezel. By starting at the bottom, as you say, and pulling with finger nails under the inside edges, it eventually started to release. Then, continuing to work anti-clockwise, the whole bezel came away without breaking. All is back together now, and it feels just like new.

  • On My Acer i have to put something behind it from it shutting on my hands or going completly backwards should i still try to tighten screws or get all new hinges?

  • @TheKingslook That sounds like the hinges are done for.

  • your 'U' tangent is gone! :D

  • Thanks for the video and the warning. A+

  • Gonna try it tonight ! On my dell vostro 1000

  • @AuthorBuzz

    Problem solved ! thanks ! It's like I have a new display =)))

  • This didn't solve my prob (broken hinges) but you're GREAT! Very professional, articulate and knowledgeable. Thanks! Will check out other videos.

  • Excellent!! This was exactly what I was looking for!! Thank you VERY much!!!

  • Thanks "kid"!!! Fixed my laptop thanks to you : )

  • I AM NOT TAKING ADVISE FROM A KID HELL NO

  • @EXCistionFTW134 Well you looked this video up because you didn't know how to do it, and me the so called "kid" does. I can care less if you take my advice or how to, just pay someone to do it because you don't know how when you could take my advice and get it done free.

    Oh society...

  • @EXCistionFTW134

    you're an idiot

shut the sound off and watch it if the kid bothers you

the info is in the images more so than narration

but the kid does have some good advice so he gets my vote for a job well done...thanks kid!

  • cheers i will go do this now

  • Its it for sale??

  • @Tyler117725 No.

  • Can it work on a gateway200stm notebook because it cant even hold the screen

  • @Tyler117725 That sounds like those hinges are done for.

  • Would this work with a Dell Inspirson 1501?, it looks exactly the same as the one in the video.

  • Very insightufll lil dude!

Is it the same procedure for a dell Inspiron 1525?

  • Thanks sooo much. I have the exact same laptop with the exact same problem

  • good vid. thanks!

  • i was certain that you were a girl before i saw the reflection on the screen

  • Thank you for the tip, really helped me allot. tightened up the screws around the corner hinges, the screws were really loose. Then flipped it down and found that the hinges in the corner that hold the monitor were at fault, they were really hard to move. So for those who have this problem either buy new hinges or do like I did and soak then in wd 40 or anything that lubricates and start grabbing some pliers and start forcing them loosen up and resoaking then in lubricant and do it again.

  • @gustavorlore , please remove the hinges if you are going to soak the hinges. there are three screws on each hinge total one top, one on the back corner and the other one in the bottom corner. good luck and last thank you to the person that made this video.

  • does anyone know where i can buy the screws to fix the hinges on my dell? or the size so i can buy at an electronics store?

  • @ clubcar98 Thanks!

  • Would this work for the Dell Latitude d600? Please answer asap. Thanks.

  • @CenationMember619 I don't own one of those laptops, although I am looking at buying one...

Based on the photos though I see, it should be about the same deal to tighten them!

  • thanks man i got the same exact laptop so this was VERY hepful my hinges were pretty loose so thanks

  • Just get a new Laptop and not a dell worst laptops ever

  • Great video, I followed and was successful, thanks for tip on the nipple sticking out on the front piece. It could of easily snapped if I don't see your warning first. Also 2 screws on bottom of unit help out holding of the screen i found too, Good job on video, keep them going.

  • not the plate or bezel above the power button. it does not Just lift off like you showed.

  • This Video Is Missing and You Are Skipping Over Important Steps in this process, This Computer is already taken apart Why dont you show us How the Bezel comes of f we KNow how to tighten a screw when we see it. You simply lift the bezels off which is not how this works

  • @VirantRoss Watch the video again then! Others have this same laptop and had no issues taking the pieces off.

I explained how they came off, its not hard.

  • Thanks Man!

    It worked! haha :P

  • wanka

  • sometimes stripped threads can be *fixed" by wrapping the post of the screw (that's where the threads are) with something that gives the screw a little more width in the hole. Because these screws are so tiny I'd try wrapping a few turns of dental floss around the post before brute forcing with a larger diameter screw. Or maybe a small piece of plumber's tape.

BTW this is a great video.

I saw the two parter where the kid disassembled half the box

    Whew!

Anyhow thanks for the quick and easy.

  • How did you get those rubber stubbies off over the screws on the lid? mine keep ripping aand i want to save them! lol let me know thanks.

  • @DJSonixx I used a tiny screwdriver, and I mean tiny. They come in a set and they are really small. You can use a toothpick maybe too. Or a needle.

    Mine ripped some what too.

  • I have a Hp pav9000 and i was wondering how much will it cost to get the hinge fixed AND i think i may need a new cover because when the hinge broke the cover CRACKED! AGH!

  • That made me sad when I saw yours is broken. that`s nice of you sharing your experience.

    Thanks

  • @Music4jesuz Yes.

  • My screen is totally detached from the hinges lol so my laptop is screwed .. a little cellotape fixed it a bit haha at least it stays up right :L

  • Good video, man. Educational and to the point. Thanks

  • Thank you so much, been having problems with this for years!

  • does this work for Sony Vaio laptop as well? i have a Sony Vaio FW series and the hinges are kinda loose

  • Thanx dude u saved me some money.

  • My screen is sorta shaky but idk if it is worth the taking the laptop apart. how shaky is to shaky?

  • @mouchy123 There shouldn't be more than an inch or so of "play" (shakey ness).

  • thanks man great video

  • Thanks! This solved my wobbly hinge!

  • you freaking rock. i follwed your exact instructions and my hinge is hard again! thanks!

  • nice! i just got a Inspiron 1501 wednesday! ill do this to mine!

  • cheers nice fast and easy to fix ..just watched a 15 min vid guy took out keyboard and took the display off lol this vid is far better good job

  • Yeah.... i left this unfixed and the damage spreaded, need a new lcd bezel cover now.

Two screws, all it took. Gee fucking whiz.

    Do you know what size?

  • i tightened all these screws but it didnot work for me

  • life saving thanks

  • Well that looks easy enough for dell to bill you 300$ to do and mail it right back to you with the same hinges still in it.

  • My point exactly
