  • you should have made him green.

  • that's cool dude!

  • Wow, I don't know why you receiving negative comments saying how lame and unnnecassary this was. It 's a great idea and you applied it well.

Is it possible to replace the animation with human faces? Ha

    Great job.

  • cool and well done. BUT, if you where gonna model Charlie, it only makes sense to animate him colored GREEN! Just sayin'.... :)

  • Combining my two favorite things. Nice! :)

  • how is this pointless?

it's really cool, and that alone is a reason to do it.

it would be great for making animations that replicate videos... that's pretty awesome in itself.

  • what in the fuck was this?

  • i think i just got a new hobby

  • The final blue guy freaked me out - great job!

  • Wow. Really good job on this.

And as icing on the cake, you picked one of, if not the best comedic moments in recent television.

  • awsome

  • there is absolutely ZERO point to this but its pretty cool

  • pretty useful software

  • wow.

  • Nice work.

  • hmmm pointless, but cool too :)

  • Why do this?

  • good idea.

  • Awesome job.

  • well I think you could have accomplished this without rotoscoping...there are not many movements. But it is worth the try and share the results. 5/5 !

  • How long did it take you to do that?

I was thinking of trying something like that because I can't afford a motion capture set.

  • This particular animation took a couple hours. Rotoscoping isn't really a shortcut as much as it is a way to acheive more realistic motion, and sometime's it fails at that. 3d rotoscoping, for one thing, operates also in the hidden Z axis, which is hard to decode from the video alone, so, usually, when you change the camera angle on a finished rotoscoped scene, the animation looks much, MUCH less realistic. Motion capture, though, is automated, which makes it completely realistic AND a shortcut.

  • Well I was thinking that maybe it would be a bit easier by eliminating the hidden z axis by using tracking software like syntheyes. You'd still have to use a lot of guesswork, but I assume that'd b ea bit easier.
