  • Thanks for sharing.. now I know what it's like after seeing my mom's photos from that era...

  • I appreciate your reaction to my video of Singapore in 1964, posted by Michael Rogge. I lived in Singapore for six months in 1950, when I worked for the Nationale Handelsbank there, which later was acquired by Chase Manhattan bank, the white building shown in the clip. I lived on the top floor of the building! Unfortunately I have no film footage of that period.

  • Thank you Mr. Rogge for sharing this video. It is an important historical document for Singaporeans as most of the scenes in the video no longer exist in reality.

  • WOW. Thank you for sharing these!

  • Yes, the ending shot looks like a view of Sentosa (it wasn't called that then, though) form Mount Faber.

  • wow,.. scene 01:51 could it be that the Kacang Puteh Man is at the entrance of the old Capitol Theatre ?? and 03:05 the ladies were looking across Sentosa on top of Mt Faber ? Thank you Mr Rogge for sharing your "treasures" , hopefully the Iphone & Android generation learn to appreciate.
