everyone does perfect form when they're only squatting 135...and not to be a critic or anything but locking out like that puts stress on the knee joint
last time i checked walking puts stress on the knee joints. you know what JBLACKAPPLE was saying smart ass. you are supposed to push your hips forward slightly instead of locking your knees, watch an old arnold video
But not to dog your video but look at your footing placement with your shoulders. your body isnt squared up and your "Twisting" in your squat ... just FYI
@mensacyclist He is right. Locking joints puts ADDED stress on joints and should be avoided. During weight lifting do try not to hyper extend the joint (Keep the lock off in other words)
And just to prove you wrong further, weight lifting with light weight, high reps helps strengthen your joints.
During a squat theres simple rules to follow. Straight Back, Knees 'Behind' Toes, Lead with the shoulders and go down to 90Degree bend in the knee joint.
@Gibz101 Last time I checked squats were done to BUILD MASS....not "strengthen the knee joint". And as far as "knees behind the toes"......98 out of 100 people simply can not do that in the real world without falling backwards. While you have clearly read some books and learned to repeat what you've heard in an effort to sound knowledgebale, you obviously don't have a lot of real worl experience w/ squats. POST A VIDEO......show us how it's done.
@mensacyclist Well being a gym instructer myself and YMCA teach it that way so avoid the risk of injury, and i have never seen anyone fall backwards from keeping knee's behind toes.
You may be a body builder, but doens't mean you know best about your body and technique.
@Gibz101 ....one quick look at any of my videos will show that I am most definitely NOT a bodybuilder. You keep "avoiding injury" but don't be shocked when years have passed and you have nothing in the way of gains. People like you always obssess over form so they can distract attention from the fact that they have no muscle and can't move any serious weight. Criticizing the form of a guy who has been lifting for decades and can lift twice as much as you in any lift is just retarded.
@Gibz101 ....You get 100 people together and have each one squat w/ a barbell that has significant weight on it. If 10 of them can keep their knees behind their toes I'll give you my house. That silly bit of misinformation that you have so dutifully memorized is nothing more than crap that some exercise physiologist spewed some years back with no real world knowledge of squatting. It sounds nice in THEORY but few can do it....except on a smith machine or hack squat machine.
@Gibz101 ...Lets not forget that Olympic lifters have been squatting "ass to grass" with their kness FAR beyond their toes for a hundred years. And they are using more weight than you and I combined can squat. Watch a baby or child squat down to pick something up. Their knees will be out in front of their toes. Sorry, but it's the way the body works. Asking someone to keep their knees behind their toes while squatting is like asking a runner to keep his arms at his sides while sprinting.
@mensacyclist i seriously doubt olympic lifters don't use proper technique. but if thats what you would rather do, don't complain when you injure your knee or both knees and cant even squat your body weight. and i watched your videos, u look like 260 - 300 lbs. i saw your sit-ups too (well you call them crunches), but I'm sure you have felt pain in your back after using the 45lb plate. don't even deny it either, because i tried em the same way, and pain was definitely inevitable.
A.) There is a huge difference between an Olympic squat and a Powerlifting squat. Maybe you need to do a bit of research on both techniques. And my knees are fine after MANY years of squatting the way I do. B.) I'm not even close to 260-300 lbs and never have been. C.) I WILL deny that sit ups with a 45 lb. plate cause ANY pain whatsoever. Just because YOU are incapable of something does not mean everyone else is. I always use at least 45 lb. for situps.
@mensacyclist Almost every lift you ever do puts stress on joints you moron, avoiding locking joints up when you lift simply puts LESS stress on them and prevents injury. If you honestly feel that this is not important that's your own decision you'll have to live with once you permanently fuck your body up.
@Ohjjin I've been lifting for 27 years. So exactly when can I expect my body to get "fucked up"? Because to be honest I feel the same at age 41 as I did at age 20. I've also been doing Farmer's walks and Strongman Yoke walks which are a hell of a lot more stressful than squats. Ohjjn.....don't assume we are all as frail as you.
@Ohjjin ......and where are all your weight lifting uploads, Ohjjin? Did they accidentally get deleted. Surely, you can actually lift some weight. All I see on your chanel are videos of women you can only dream of mounting. Actually do some squats instead of just commenting on them and maybe you can get a real girl someday.
you dont have to go so low...

"and not to be a critic or anything but locking out like that puts stress on the knee joint "......
Last time I checked, SQUATS put stress on the knee joint. If someone is wanting to avoid stress to the joints they might want to take up water polo.

babys can keep their knees way past their toes because they are young and limber and barely have any bone yet. all they have is cartilage.

Don't be stupid. The fucking video is called Proper Squat Technique. Why does it matter how much weight he is lifting? It doesn't.

basically what he's demonstrating is ass out, keep your feet flat on the ground, lower the weight slowly, and raise up quickly
