i'm planning to build a Real Life sised twin engined pulsejet kart, but there is 1 problem, i live in holland and there are some rules abaut motorized vehicles, but can you say a pulsejet kart is a motorized vehicle? (like a kart whit petrol engine?) i think it isn't becaus a petrol engine lets the weels spin and a pulsejet pusses itself forward. am i right? if i'm not does someone else can answer?
Not quite... Though not very impressive I get roughly 2 oz(57 grams) of linear thrust. That would be 1 oz(28 grams) of thrust per valveless pulse jet. With a little less than 10 psi(69 kPa) on the acetylene gauge and the valve opened with only a few turns that's just enough to nudge a piece of paper on fuel pressure alone. Anyway, thanks for watching.
If you look closely you will see it is an oxy/acetylene jewlers torch. L jet is being fed by a brass nozzle scavenged from a butane lighter(there are some made from aluminium and will melt instantly) as you can see the brass one is on the verge of total collapse. I made the r nossle by machining a chunk of solid copper. Both are held in place with spring steel.
sounds sick! =P

P.J. will melt themselves to death if not cooled!
You can usually do this by moving them forward and letting the air get pushed in, this is also how the work!
If no air goes through the valve then no heat can be circulated so it goes out and the engine's kept below melting point.

this is a valveless design.
and a number of steel's will not melt. mild steel might, stainless will not.
do some reading before you post a comment like that.

I you heat anything too much, it will melt!
SlavjanA 2 years ago
a) not true. obviously you don't know what 'sublimation' is.
b) pulsejets don't get hot enough to melt 'anything', just 'a lot of things'. stainless steel is not one of those things.
Quit makin' a fool of yourself.

Calm down, ok I get it just joking!

lol that was cool :D
miniature pulsejet that works :D
make a portable gasstank and put it on a rc car? :P or a plane :P use a sailplane so you have wingarea to hold the weight :P

actually just1ofgod you're wrong. thrust comes out of the top tubes, furthes away from the combustion chamber.
MountainGuerrilla 3 years ago 3
could you tell me where is the thrust coming out from ???
the top tube (1'st one)
or the bottom one (the tube with the combusion chamber) ??? please reply
shigalbigal 3 years ago
the bottom is where the thrust comes out and the fat part is the combustion chamber

Ok, thanks :)

im not too sure about the mortorized thingy but you also gotta consider noise control. THOSE THINGS ARE LOUD!!!!!!

maby u could try to put a muffler on it idk if it will work so try that out.
ayoubk7 3 years ago
It won't work since those things work by means of resonance. Also, the high speed exhaust gas is what push them forwards.

that is awesome!

bha, with the presure of the gas inyection alone it runs equal faster
