  • i wonder what the spin wich catalina ponor did in het 2006 european chapionships FX would be worth

  • lauren mitchel does triple tuck spin now...

  • I hate turns in tuck stand. All that wobbling is not pretty!

  • Too bad Irina Evdokimova never done her double turns sitting at Worlds too, this was cool!

  • It stinks that the new CoP says you can't just do a normal full turn with leg below horizontal. Stupid rules!

  • @camjay8 where does it say that?

  • @camjay8 Is this the 2013 CoP? That's really stupid...

  • So what is the value of the double turn with horizontal leg (wevers did it at the 2010 worlds so it must have a value now)?

  • The Li Li should be a D.

  • WOW!!!! 1:12 What control!!!!!!!

  • Sanne Weavers - AMAZING double turn!

  • 0:47, who is that gymnast? is it 1994?

  • @Applepie4758 that is a star in the 60s

  • I remember that the first time I saw Li Li perform that spin on her back, I gasped. So beautiful!

  • what's the music? its really pretty

  • What competition was Imogen Cairns competing at the beginning of the video, where she did the 1.5 turn?

  • Why do they always do their illusions en de hors(to the outside of the trurning leg)? Is it incorrect in gymnastics to do them en de dans (the other direction)? Cuz in dance they are more often done en de dans unless coming out of straight leg turns or something. And pirouettes are more often done en de hors. Is there a directional rule of turns in gymnastics?

  • @bunbacheso I don't know the exact rules but imo it is easier to cheat when you turn en de dans, so that could be a reason.

  • you forgot triple turn in tuck stand which is called a humphery.

  • If you check the code you will see she was never credited with the triple and the 2.5 was named after her instead.

  • Oh I always thought the triple was named after her, some people say it is some don't i guess. It would have been nice to put her name on the 2.5 turn in your montage like you did for others. I do however enjoy your guide to... montages.

  • @MostepanovaFan

What do you think the difficulty of a scale turn on beam would be? I saw anna pavlova perform one in a recent competition. :p

  • Sanne Wevers!!!

  • Double Leg Out was soo cool and so was the triple

  • Nastia Liukin is the best

  • The first one could be called a 360 degree toe turn

  • Amazing selection

    Amazing tutorial

    Amazing song

    Way to go 'MostepanovaFan'

    P.S.: I LOVE ILUSION TURN!

  • I think its crazy that some of these girls don't spot on their double turns or more.

  • how come sanne weavers double turn at horizontal didnt get a difficulty rating?

    great video btw

  • Because it's not actually in the CoP yet.

  • I'm pretty sure it's gonna be an E.

  • the knee turn looks harder than an A.

  • Love your guide, as always.

How about a guide for the Uneven Bars skills that you haven't done yet (Pieroettes, Stalders, etc)?

    Again, fantastic!

  • 0:58 omfg her leg is bent the wrong way o.O

  • What? I don't see anything wrong.

  • Thank you so much for all of your work. I've been a gymnastics fan for almost as long as I've been alive (my first memory is watching the 1968 Olympics with my mom) but I've been a tune-in-at-the-Olympics kind of gal. Now having discovered gymnastics blogs, gymnastics youtube, and most especially your videos, I am so incredibly happy! And even happier to think of all of your videos that I haven't seen yet! I love learning to recognize the different skills. Thank you, thank you!

  • didn't terin humphrey do a triple in tuck stand?

  • Comment removed

  • Sanne Wevers is possibly one of the best spinners ever! :)

  • @emma2710gymnastics Her, Mai Murakami, Mustafina, Yui Fujji, and Casey Jo Magee are the absolute best spinners!

  • As a longtime gymnastics fan, I really enjoy these. I haven't taken the time to read the COP and it is interesting to see the different moves in this context with some of the prettiest textbook examples of them. FIG should hire you to put together a visual guide to the COP or something.

Oh, but that would require logic on the part of a governing body. Never mind. ;o)

  • wow this is really cool i like it alot !! and btw what is the name of the song ?

  • gypsy-lord of the dance

  • Thanks

  • THANK YOU!

  • Another great job! But why no triple turn in tuck stand (Terin Humphrey)?

  • The humphrey is in the code as the 2.5 and there is no triple turn in tuck stand in the code (I have no idea why since she always did it as a triple)

  • Maybe because she doesn't finish the last turn in the same tuck position she begins? Also for the same reason Nguyen's seems just a 1.5 and Mitchell's just a double...imo

  • @MostepanovaFan i think it's because she always failed to reach the side she started on without difficulty

  • Great video. Isn't the 2.5 turn un tuck stand (performed by Lauren Mitchell in this video) named after Terin Humphrey?

  • the mount is

  • yes, the turn is named after terin.

  • Why didn't the double turn with the leg at horizontal have a code number or a difficulty rating?

  • It isn't in the code of points yet because it hasn't been performed at a worlds or Olympics, but I thought it was too cool to leave out :)

  • @MostepanovaFan Do you think this would be an E or F skill?

  • @hunkymodel01 The Double Turn with Leg Held at Horizontal I mean

  • THANKS!!
