I know 1st hand how it is white people not knowing i had black in me have made comments about black people "coons" you name it and of course i had to clear up the stereotypes of black people with them there face turned blood red lol i feel like as far as understanding goes both black and white people do not understand us as being "normal" people ive had hate from both black people because they don't see themselves in me i had white people treat me diffently after i told them i had black in me.

not saying all mixed people from white mothers and black fathers are this because obviously you don't feel this way but a lot do and apart of me thinks that the fact that a lot of white women get with black men without really knowing the culture of African Americans so they raise the child the only way they know how white America sees mixed people as black that can make a certain person feel less then in the world when they grow up white..

Just to be truthful i have in countered a lot of mixed people that feel like there "above" full black people and I'm saying this as a mixed person myself my mom is black Brazilian and my father white i have blue eyes nearly straight hair but a lot of mixed people i have encountered have said things that make me personal embarrassed to be mixed the and in most cases Ive noticed more of mixed kids from black fathers and white mothers lack

I am a Mulatto; born in Italy, raised in France. I knew nothing apart from what I grew up in. My father was raised in Senegal, Africa in an educated, privileged family. He immigrated to Italy as a teenager and quickly assimilated into European society. My father never kept much of his Senegalese culture. In fact, he's very "europeanised". My mothers Italian culture was always dominant.

Americans and Brits often times call Mulattoes black. Mulatto is not a slave term. It was a term misused in the United States and England during slavery, which made it derogatory. I think he does mean it. I've seen him bash biracials and light skin on other videos before he came out and said it officially. Color is very important to Jaylove..I could never dream of some of the adjectives for skin color and hue that Jaylove comes up with. I refer to him as the King of Color. This love/hate thing that black people have towards biracials doesn't seem to have an end. Jaylove's most popular videos are about IR and light/dark and biracials..what does that tell you?

@ skullcrusher I agree with you on the fact that mix people are " mixed " . It's up to the person to discover there own identity. I promote mixed pride yes because I think mixed people are forced to choose or be isolated . It has been my experience that blacks make race more of a issue with mixed people then any other race. exactly.... I have seen a couple of biracial people who identify more with black people and even they admit that they have seen Alot of biracial people who hate thier black side.

However I can understand why someone might get upset if they are just refered to as one side...my daughter is obviously mixed

biracial people are mixed and that is what they should be refered to as not  just white or black.

When jaylove says that stuff he isn't talking about ALL biracial people..he is talking about mainly the biracial people he encounters in real life anf online who are openly white supremecists...

I have seen many biracial people like that online who actually DO hate thier black side and they have no problem with admiting it....just go read the commentary some biracial people post on his videos.

I think he said it because he is tired of getting hate mail from mixed people and self-hating people.

@prettyblackwomen1 Actually I don't have any animosity towards Jaylove, despite his dislike for light or biracial. I've subscribed to him for two years so I've watched pretty much every video he ever made. Sometimes I agree with him, many times I don't. Also, Jaylove has stated he has only thought of homosexual acts and never has physically done so. If that defines homosexual, then humans are really in trouble.

I watched his videos talking about him being gay... at first he said he never actually did anything with a guy but I suspect that he has with a guy since he made those videos....he also has a few newer videos about him possibley having HIV.

he says he is gay but I think he is actually bisexual because he used to talk about how he had previously been with women..but I am sure he favors men.

Another good response. As a biracial, I've always been slapped with that crap too and I hate to say it once again, but for some reason, those views always seem to come from the African American community. Why? I don't understand it, but that's one of the biggest reasons why it's hard for a biracial to connect to the black community--they know we can't be white, so why can't some blacks accept us for who we are?

Thoughtful vid and I agree, the vlogger you're talking about seems like an angry person who doesn't like himself. I'll just add that he actually hits me as being resentful of his own African identity and therefore jealous of anyone who is racially mixed or non-Black. That is truly sad ... has to be an uncomfortable way to live.
