you know what else has salt and vinegar in it? ketchup. ketchup works great and i'm sure most people have a bottle in their house. I've seen people clean their copper heat sinks in their computer with it because it gets into small places easily.

asennad is exaggerating a little, but it does corrode the metal somewhat and doing this too much will indeed corrode through the metal sooner or later.

Of course what she didn't tell you is that next time you use the pot the bottom falls off from the acidic corrosion.
