yeah, those must be Tom Freer mallets, they're awesome and I would recommend them to anyone playing this piece.

I noticed there was no stick flip...maybe those are the Tom Freer double sided timpani mallets from Pro-Mark....

The other timpani around school were being loaned out for gigs. This is what was available.
