  • I love when he spits all over the monitor "I'll SAVE YOU KIMMY!"

  • blu-ray & samsung rulzs ~ maltyful is LG schoold ~ :-P

  • fun game, not as good as dragons liar, imo...

  • This is classic..and the first significant laser game to 1983's Dragon's Lair...i was a teen when this came out..and this was a huge deal back then...a large crowd, always, surrounded the machine, when someone was playing..50 cents to play...expensive back then..

  • YOU CANNOT WIN!!

  • COWARD!

How DARE you ignore the Energize wristwatch light thingy!

  • i think this is the best laserdisc game ever!

  • I used to own this arcade around 1985, The lazer disc player messed up & I ended up selling it for $50. That was way before the internet came out & you could find replacement parts.

  • sorry to hear you had to sell it, a fun game, but imo not as good as dragons liar...

  • I used to play this game!!! I got passed the first two levels the first time I played it. As much as I like Dragon's Lair, Space Ace was alot more fun and little bit easier IMO.

  • I remember playing this original l and the feeling it gave off was so cool for 9 year old. Good ol classic games... the just get better and better....

  • I wish my Mac version of this still worked!!!!! :'(

  • Imagine my disappointment when I found out that Dexter WASN'T voiced by Eddie Deezen (I always thought he was, but it turns out it was animator Will Finn).

  • It wasn't Eddie Deezen the Steven Spielberg look-a-like turned Scientologist? Damn! Sounds just like him though.

  • No freakin' way! I can't believe I just saw this! I would beat this game on the hardest level & wait until the last possible minute 2 energize. Brings back memories. I beat Dragon's Lair part 1 but not part 2 though. There were other games like this. Cliffhanger was 1 of them. Sheeit! I gotta look that up in here!

  • THIS GAME ROCKS im gunna make a daphne arcade with a windows 98 and now im currently programming a game with the same gameplay with gamemaker (im using clips from the tv show Storm Hawks) and if im not too lazy i might animate my own cartoon and then make a game out of it

  • wha?

  • Too bad, 'cause this game has the WORST gameplay EVER!!!! Play it and you'll find out :)

  • Yeah! I remember they had this at the skate rink when I was a kid! It looked coll, but it was impossible to play!!! The drawings were nice but the game sucked ass!!!

  • Agreed. The Don Bluth-made arcade games were very hard to control, but man were they cool to look at. Personally, I think it's better to just buy the DVDs with these games on them. Something truly great about these games is not only are they a thrill for hardcore gamers, but they're fun to watch because of their amazing visuals and the fact that they pretty much play more like movies than actual games.

  • I agree with you.

I remember seeing dragons lair in cleethorpes ... and dang! it was amazing.

However, nowadays this would be classed as an interactive DVD menu.

    Still... I love the games!

  • Haha Borf is here! I could never pass the skating part. . ."snif and my CD-I broke can't play any games !!!

  • Your CD-I broke that sux. I still have mine hooked up and I play space ace when i get the urge. They might have cheap Cd-I on ebay.

  • maybe ^_^ oh that would be awesome ! lol

  • My machine! Neat! I bought it after that show. It's been converted back into a Dragon's Lair (well the conversion will be complete once I get a new LDV1000 for it)

  • does anybody know the name of the holagram game that sega made around the same time as this?

  • I think it was called "time traveler." There is a home DVD version you can buy. I got it, it's okay, but haven't passed it, too hard.

  • I just played this game, and I gotta say, it's weird.

  • Deven247,

How old are you? You're probably too young to remember, but this game was a huge success in the mid 80's. Lord, I could cry I miss my childhood so much.

  • Sorry, I'm 16, and I never said it sucked. I just said it was strange to me. It was like playing an old cartoon.

  • Deven247,

Well, keep in mind, the game came out in the 80's, so yeah it is like playing an "old" cartoon because 80's cartoons would be old to you.

No problem, you have to play it to understand how cool of a game it was.

  • I know. It was pretty addictive. I don't know how they did it. I mean, you control a cartoon! That is pretty cool!

  • lol did you guys die at that part too lol!!!! that`s the only thing i remember of the whole game lol GET ME OUT OF HERE!!!!

  • LOL Love that part.

Ace: Kimberly. Come in. Are you okay?

Kimberly: (sarcasm)Oh sure, I've just been kidnapped by aliens, that's all.(/sarcasm)

    Ace: I'll save you Kimmy!

Kimberly: GET ME OUT OF HERE!!!!!!

    Memories.

  • Ace/Dexter

  • i can hear "Thayers quest" in the backround, another cartoon game, lol

  • I was able to finally get all the way thru this thing after investing 50.00 in quarters back in 1988!...;)

Made a sequel game myself (one playable level, before Bluth halted the project)...you can see it here on YouTube, just search for 'Space Ace- Kimberlys Quest'...

    K

  • REmember Super Don Quixote? that one was dope!!

  • A love this game..

  • At least he isn't mute like Dirk... But he sounds like a gerbil >.<

  • Nothing more annoying than this game with slow vertical hold on the monitor is there? Damn this game is fast!!!

  • I LOVE THAT GAME! I acualy never finish it! I'm block when they are on skate!

  • Ah nostalgia, to be a teenager again, sigh. I completed this on hard level, it took alot of coins. I remember the skating being difficult. As with dragons lair it helped if you watched how it was done. This was a cut above dragons lair, some imaginative gaming and the response was slick.

  • WOW. Would love to see more of this and from the source. I used to secretly bag my lunch so I could spend my cafeteria money on this thing. Got through it a few times. What a flashback!!!

  • cool! I have the laserdisc from ace, lair, cobra c,and cliff h all on VHS still taped.

  • Damn, that sure looks like a difficult game, you even don't get direction arrows :S.

  • kimberly, what an old slut :-)

  • Game looks fun & fast-paced. I wanna play that!

  • I can hear theaers quest in the backround

  • i ahve the game the laser disc game :)

  • I Also Have These Game On My Mame. Also Play Station 1 And Nitendo NES N64 Atri2600 And Others. This IS A Lazer Disc Game. There Is Also 3 Others That Work.

  • Dude, I was there at C Extreme! That game was awesome! You're way better then I am, though...

  • ha io lo finivoo!

  • *sigh* brings back memories - never finished it. any ideas where you can get hold of the full footage of that game (and dragons lair) was excellent to watch!

  • they are hard to find but I have dragons lair its a dvd disc and you use the dvd player and remote to play game

  • I LOVED THIS GAME!!! I sucked though of course i was like 8 when I played it last.
