I love the beautiful bulgarian polyphony and know how difficult it is to sing like this, as I was in a balkan choir 13 years ago (mainly bulgarian and a few croatian songs). It might be that to be able to sing like this is genetically determined, but still: Respect!

a lot of bulgarian songs have little words and it is the singing that makes it so transcendent. this one is a song about a group of rebels back in time, who were fighting the oppressor. so they are asking the hero why don't you go and be the first in battle, you used to do? the hero says, it is true it used to be like that, but now i am wounded and i can't. lament for the hero. its sung by 'Trio Balgarka' with Yanka Rupkina as lead vocal.
