@maxpower789z The Gracies thought that about the refs so agreed to rules so no ref could favor a fighter but the ref still interfered when the fight should only have been stopped by Royce or his corner. It was supposed to be same rules as Helio vs. Kimura 50 yrs. before where Helio lost via "kimura" shoulder lock and Carlos Gracie threw in the towel. That was the point creating Royce vs Yoshida.
basicly it meens that yoshida is implying that tank abbot is no where near his fitness level therefore he doesnt have to do any training to prepare for him but the wierd thing is he had the same commercial with a diffrent fighter
*sigh, lamers, there is no rule saying royce must wear a gi, it's totally upto the fighter what they wear so how is that cheating you dumb prick.
secondly, as for the kicking in the balls incident, NEWSFLASH, it happens all the time in fights. the person who is kicked, is given plenty of time to recover.
stop looking for excuses and just face the fact that royce is by far the superior grappler and has by far better stand up skills. hence the win.
cool video men! yoshida didnt have to train against tank cause tank sucks big time hes a patetic street fighter yoshida is just too good that he may fight with a hangover hes all about technique over muscles...cheers!
btw, to see for yourself, you must continue to watch after the fight, there you will see in a replay a side on view of royce's head underneath breathing fine.
MEHCjohn, you fu*king tool he wasn't suffocating royce, royce was fine. if you see the fight at the end just before the stupid ref stopped it, you could see that royce was turning his head sideways and using his hand to make space to breath. you could clearly see his mouth wasn't being covered. they had a rematch and royce destroyed him!.
you mean stick to fighting in the UFC, with all them othere losers, but he is kinda good thats why i guess he was just another man to dump the UFC for bigger and better things at Japan, in PRIDE FC and K-1.
the ref thought royce tapped out and it did kinda looked like it but royce argued that he didnt tap. but the ref is allowed to stop the fight if he thinks someone is being submitted but not willing to tap
@BootlegFightVideo Yoshida beat Gracie by choke. Gracie went limp in the hands and legs and the referee did the right thing before Gracie died or suffered some permanant damage.
@muaythairaja anyone could suffer damage in any fight but that stoppage was early, against the rules and ruled a no contest. You ever seen a fully choked out fighter recover to jump up and argue in 1 second? The ref didn't bother to ask Royce "give up?" as they always do. You should see the reverse angle on the DVD. Gi on the jaw not neck.
@BootlegFightVideo Not Yoshida's fault, though... I thought the rematch between the two was a beautiful thing, although I always did want Yoshida to gnab the win. Hate off to both those men for their contributions to the fighting world, though - I wish the UFC featured special-ruled battles conditioned to both fighters' liking; the no ground-striking was pretty damn cool, showcasing the strengths of Judo & Jujitsu. Good times.... good times....
@herrkamphenkel I dunno how much to blame Yoshida was as I don't know what he said to the ref exactly. If Yoshida was really sure Royce was out and worried about killing him he would just have let go and it would be obvious to all. Watch Wallid vs. Royce, Wallid choked him out and Royce looked dead. No fishy refs, no arguing 15 seconds of choking til he was done.
I never saw the reverse angles on the DVD, but one thing I do know is that the Japanese favor their fighters A LOT

As much as I love Yoshida, he isn't the same Judoka he used to be. He's gotten older and hasn't been winning as many fights as he normally did.
However, I still consider him a legend in the grappling world and an amazing Judoka.

Not really. In MMA they had a draw. In a grappling match a ref interfered and stopped it when the ref wasn't allowed to by the rules.
