@joburgess no. CDs and records are comparable to vhs and dvd. CD and DVD are digital, VHS and records are analog. If you put a CD on a record player, don't plan on listening to that cd ever again.

@joburgess also, this is a "Croswell" system...some of them are designed to burn CD's from vinyl.

Some people turn the record player on standby (on but doesn't spin) then place the needle down and then turn it on. The needle is already in place and you can't scratch. Unless you end up dancing real close causing the needle to vibrate.
