  • i myself love movies set in 19 century with many girls like little women and pp and sense and sensibility

  • Do guys like this movies???? Or its just girls in here??? XD

  • Thanks to the poster of this mini-series, which I think is the best version of those mentioned.

Here one feels one is observing Jane Austen's people true to life. The 1995 version has fine actors playing their parts very well. The film version were better it had never been made --

they somehow managed to take all of Jane Austen out of it!

  • OH MY GOD ANOTHER VERSION OF THE BEST STORY EVER!!!!

seriously how have i never known about this version????

  • This Elizabeth really lives up to the character I portrayed in my mind.

  • This version has the sharpest Lizzie and the most intimidating Mr Darcy... Awesome... 1995 the sweetest Lizzie and fine looking Mr Darcy. 2005 most fiesty and bubbly Lizzie and shy and fine Mr Darcy... Lol

  • This version and 1995 all the way. Ps 2005 movie was a really good movie too and outstanding to fit such a rich story in 1 hour and a few minutes is insane and yet it was a fair version...

  • Luv Mr and Mrs Bennett hehe...

  • I LOVE this version I can't get enough of it. It really goes along with my own interpretation of the book. Although the 2005 and 1995 versions are both good, for some reason this one resonates more with me. The comedy is great and the acting is superb. All the characters are perfect!

  • I love this version!! Thank you for posting it! Now I don't have to drag the vhs version with me to school!

  • ok but mrs Bennet does make me laugh.

  • I find this version so far quite disappointing, the acting looks more like a theatre piece acting then an actual film. I expected more from it.

  • i wish they had followed the book for the beginning at least.. pride and prejudice is not pride and prejudice without that opening!!

  • thank you I've been wanting to watch this one, I've seen the other versions, and stayed with 1995 as my favorite; and now I get to whatch this and decide which I like the most!thank you!

  • This version puts me to sleep. I love it.

  • I love this version the most. Thank you so much for posting this!!!

  • I love every version as well, but I think the 1995 version has the best Mr. Collins - he doesn't seem to try as hard to be fumbling as this one does, or the 2005 version which is terrible - he's just naturally awkward. 2005 had the worst Lizzie: shrewish, mean, and openly insulting of her mother. She's not a character that would act in so spoiled a way.

The reason the 1980 version might seem stiff, is that it was filmed as a play might have been, rather than in the film manner we're used to.

  • So many versions, and I love them all. Thanks for sharing this one.

  • this is cool but the 1940 version remains the BEST!

  • Why the subtitles?

  • @Jitpring

for those who are not native speaker.

  • i have this on dvd, but its fun to come here and see the comments. each version of Pride & Prejudice, the 1940, 1980, 1996, 2005, has its good parts. for example, the music of course is better in the movie versions. collin first is the best performer of the mr darcy role. but this version lizzy and mr darcy most appear like how the book describes. the actress' name is elizabeth, btw . this mr darcy looks like a cold stiff statue which is how i picture mr darcy. too many points to make so i stop

  • i love watching all the different versions.. it's kinda sad how many times i watch all the jane austen movies. guess what.. miami heat are in the finals! i know it's random.. just sayin..

  • OMG...Me either! How many parts are there to this? 20?

  • looks like i wont be going to sleep any time soon.

  • ive never seen this version before im so excited!!! love love jane austen.... thank you so much for the upload and subtitles!!!

  • One of the reasons that I love this version is because it is so authentic not only to the book to the era. from the lighting to the wardrobe.

  • If women had the sensibility of Charlotte, more women would be married!!!!!!!!!!

  • THANK YOU for this version! When I first saw this in 1979 it was my VERY FIRST exposure to Jane Austen -- I had never even heard of her before! She changed my entire life -- I read all her books -- just was amazed -- thank you for this! It is so charming --

  • thank you sooooo much!

  • YES! for once someone puts up the best version!!! thank you soooooooooo much!!

  • thank you for the subtitles!

  • there's so much added dialogue that's not in the book.

  • the acting its horrible!!!!!! version 1995 +1000

  • @vitakinesis The acting is in a different style from today's, but it grows on you. :-)

  • @vitakinesis the mother and father of this one work very well, mrs bennet in the 1996 is the WORST performance of all the versions. this lizzy and charlotte are excellent.

  • @shoobedoorocketship keep dreaming...

  • @vitakinesis what a silly comment. dreaming suggest something in the future, both of these versions were years ago.and i am not saying the elizabeth and charlotte were lacking in the other versions.on the contrary, they all had their appeal.

  • @shoobedoorocketship mrs bennet in the 1996 was SUPERB that annoyn voice, was perfect was exaclty how i imagine whe i read the book. the 80's verion have no feeling, its al a line lack of waves...

  • @vitakinesis the mrs bennet is supposed to be silly and vulgar, the 1996 overdoes it, she because an outright shrew, so to say the least i disgree.

  • @shoobedoorocketship She's pretty shrewish in this version as well. I don't find her amusing at all, but then, she pales in comparison to Mary Boland in the 1940 version, who was absolutely perfect.

  • thank you so much for this. i have always thought this version is by far the best produced, i had the original video then the extended version, then the region 1 dvd & finally last year i got a region 2 dvd from holland, now.

  • I hope none of the parts are missing in this version...

  • thanks

in februrary i post another bbc classic version of austen persuasion
