Hola! I will ask the composer if he is actually selling the score. We don't publish much music here in the Philippines. But my choir has an authorized clear copy of this version in Latin (original is in Filipino). Prof Joel Navarro of Calvin College (US) helped in the Latin version.
@jojovelasco I know its been some time, but did you get an answer from the composer? I'm also interested in buying this pieces for my choir in Guatemala. Thanks in advance!
I'm proud of what the MADZ have achieved. I've been following them since the 80's, even when Sir Jojo and Sir Eudy were still singing. May cassette tape pa kami nun.

inswinger7, i really like the way you think. At last i found someone here that thinks as an artist. the human voice is just like a piece of snowflake or a piece of diamond which is unique on its own and cannot be compared to one another, in my opinion, every voice is beautiful, although it is more of a personal preference if you like what you hear or not.
I'm not sure which arrangement/interpretation I like better - this one or that of the MADZ'... I think I'm leaning more towards this one. oh!
many people thought of some choirs made it to the Grand Prix. Yes they're right. BUT, it doesn't mean they have achieved what MADZ got. Let me explain. In Europe, there are 5 competitions held all at the same time. Then, the Champions in that 5 competitions will battle in one competition and that's the GRANDPRIX. That's what MADZ achieved. They're the first Filipino Choir who won two consecutive Championship. Gets? Laugh Out Loud for Filipino Choirs.
Actually there are 6 competitions, not 5: Tolosa, Tours, Varna, Gorizia, Arezzo and Debrecen. Kaya lang Varna is every 2 years, so some Grand Prix years have 5 competitors, and some have 6.
Nobody is claiming to have achieved what Madz won. Those who posted here about Filipino Choirs were comments for the collective, as in ALL the Filipino choirs, including Madz.
try watching the Grandprix performances of other choirs who didn't win. You'll be amazed how being in the EGP is a great honor and achievement in itself.
I'm waiting for the day when a Filipino choir is not measured by the number of medals or trophies one brings home. But simply by how a choir touches the hearts of the audience. Sadly, despite our choirs are now being exposed to many international competitions, our perspectives have not followed suit. Van Cliburn didn't have to win 10 Tschaikovsky Prizes to prove his worth, and The Monteverdi Singers don't own a single EGP Trophy.
nku mrmi lang inggit kay sir.jojo dhil mgling tlga syang conductor... ska mgnda ung relationship ng grup nila khit d aq ksali sknila ung conductor nmnin under nila kya i know how great he is
wow... grabe the best tlga ACS galing.... ur d best & finest choir in the phili. or maybe in d other country wow d best ka sir jojo... mas mgnda nmn d hamak version nyo kesa sa UPSA more power ACS
It's amazing how this video has generated so many differing comments. What is not amazing is that the level of critical thinking, for the most part, has ranged from the inane to the insular. I wish we could raise the level of the exchanges and be more deferring and gracious in our speech. Disagree, yes, but don't be disagreeable.
As Filipinos, we need to present our best foot forward in cyberspace and work towards a counterculture of sophisticated and nuanced thought against the crassness out there.
That said, visitations of the Spirit through musical renditions like these, are not exclusive to any choir. Or even to those that win in competitions. Even the stones cry out in praise to God. I wish we could fix our gazes towards the One to whom towards music like these are sung to.
Despite all the words written about this choir and this song, doesn't it still touch your heart? God so loved the world seems to come out from the idea of praying the pater noster and to be welcomed into the common grace that is ... hay Sir Jojo, miss ko na nga ang AILM, at ang Gesu. Hay at yung NAMCYA.
Sali ulit ako. Tapusin ko lang ang pagreresidente ko.
I'm starting to get migmig's point (whew after a long while!) but i wish he had laid the predicate to his arguments earlier on. and present some more facts to support his arguments.
I only found out from Jon Ayson and was already locked in a duty.
Well at least asterixobelixis' post is indeed just an opinion whether you agree with him/her or not. And he/she is indeed entitled to that opinion. It is very unlike the post of that person (who is no longer posting anything now), who kept on making accusations without actual bases for them. So where is he now? yooohooo, where are you???
glee club level? paalala ko lang, this "glee club" made it once sa grand prix... haay.. maraming feeling magaling at mataas ang standard dito sa youtube talaga.. just enjoy the freakin' video...
Interesting comments. Sorry to dampen your enthusiasm guys, but I don't find anything extraordinary in this performance. I think it's glee club level. But overall, the determination is admirable.
I am appalled. The level you're talking about. Glee club level. Maybe you don't know what your talking about. The overall balance, organic unity and yes expression and technique is exemplary. Not glee club level. I wonder how you can speak so ill for something you are not part of?
hahahah! now tell me this is an opinion. you're joking, right? please tell me you are cause if you're not you're simply b*ll*cks!
what do you mean by "glee club level"? do you pertain solely to ACGC or to glee clubs in general?
i don't have any problems with the observation that there's nothing extraordinary, but to comment glee club level without expounding is simply a cheap shot.
GO ACS!!!
can some of us please shut up about skating? i don't see any skaters in this video. do you? stick to the topic at hand please.
and please, please post whatever comment or article or whatever it is that you're talking about that says this choir promotes itself as the best or winning the most prestigious competition in the world.
sino ba yang nagmamaganda na yan na nagsasalita about vocal technique, phrasing at kung anu-ano pa. you don't know anything.
Sir Jojo, I think these people who listen to your choir are misled. You don't pretend to be the great choir that you are. Many other people would rather have blurbs and prizes. I believe that you have here is art. So open to criticism, but attests to a great heart, and yes keen mind.
I wonder if you can post up the Majesty and Glory of your name, alam ko you said kinakanta nyo yun sa Gesu pero walang recording. Grabe I would want to hear that again and again.
Teka nakapag Miserere na kayo ni Gorecki? I think your choir would do that one better than the original.
i think migmig21's concerns are valid. I once opened a website of a local choir which introduces itself with a line that reads something like this: No more lengthy debates and .... it is a universally accepted fact that (this choir) is one of the world's best for all time.... It was such a big turn-off. Why can't they just describe their repertoire and concert/tour schedule and enumerate their achievements and awards and leave the judgment to the public, period.
I agree that migmig21's concern is valid and that such a behavior by a choir as you have described is rather distasteful. However, migmig is accusing ACS of commiting such self-promotion, when there is no actual evidence of the choir having done such. All the choir did was post their video alongside factual details (venue, title and composer etc.). The praises were made by viewers and not the choir itself. And thus, the claim of self-promotion being commited by ACS is definitely unfounded.
sure they're valid. but are they applicable to this case? migmig21 has yet to post the comment that started this whole hullabaloo...
and i think it's inaccurate to qualify this youtube video as a shallow jab at self-promotion. it WOULD be self-promotion if it was being aggressively shoved in people's faces but it's only one video among millions being shared here.
Si Sir Jojo,Grabe yung Ama Namen. Even their covers of christian songs may depth of emotion. Please awards are just for show. But if your music can even touch one soul to worship or even to love or be stronger in faith or believe in something bigger than themselves, then they are winners. Sir Jojo, sige na nga, I love your sound world (mondo sonoro) kaso lang naunahan ka ni Arwin sa tenga ko. Buti na lang may puso pa ako. And your music, I love.
But no, they said they won more than 150 and that as a team, they ranked first or second overall. What world were they talking about? Venus? Then I checked. Yun pala, ISI world championship ang sinalihan, hindi International Skating Union (ISU)-- the true world championship. I didn't even bother to know what ISI means. May be one of the I's stands for Insignificant or Inconsequential.
I don't think any member of this choir has posted or claimed that they are the best in anything. I only commented that this was (for me) the best rendition of this song, but I'm not even part of this choir. And I don't think any of the people opposing your views about this choir whom you accuse of not being able to take criticism are part of this choir.
We are here on youtube to enjoy not to dump our frustrations about the world. More power to all of the country's artists, whatever art form they've chosen to make us proud.
I've been watching world skating championships on cable tv but i've never seen a qualifier from our pearly shores. What made me suspect the misrepresentation was the boast of the local delegation that they won more than 150 gold medals in that world championship! I thought all along that only 4 gold medals were being contested in the world skating championship! [They are for singles (men and women), ice dancing, and pairs.]
More on comments about this post: This self-promotion is not only true among choirs; there's this girl who won a skating medal abroad and being promoted locally as a "World champion". She (and her parents) have parlayed that title into an endorsement contract with Milo. But I wonder, how can she be a world champion if she can't even land a single triple jump? The most complicated jump she could manage is probably a double loop. Can this girl beat Shizuka Arakawa, Sasha Cohen and Irina Slutskaya?
Hi migmig, I see your point, your insights are quite valid. However (this is a big HOWEVER), when did the choir (its members or its conductor) ever make a self promotion? You keep on repeating the issue of self promotion but I have never witnessed any post from the choir that implicated any self promotion. Please quote a post from this thread that exhibits that self promotion you are claiming. Just be sure that what you quote really came from a member of the choir!!! okay???
Hi migmig21. Thanks for your well-articulated comments, and your concern. I'd appreciate it if you would post the comment you've been referring to, the one where we apparently aggrandize ourselves and mislead you. And I hope you understand that our conductor and choir have never intended, nor mean to intend, to advertise ourselves as the best choir. We got what we got in Tolosa, nothing more and nothing less.
The comment in this post is typical of how we tend to promote ourselves. Let me segue a little-- this is no longer about ACS but about Philippine choirs in general. When our choirs compete abroad and they win an award, they make it appear that it is the most important award and the contest they joined is the most prestigious contest in the world. Unfortunately, 99% of those who hear about the news believe them.
Anyways, kahit naman the best has off days. I remember hearing the "best" sing with two sopranos grating on each other's runs. Hay naku, kaya nga live performances are such risks.
That is a valid observation. But would you rather see a press release that reads like this:
"YadaYada Choir wins gold and 1st place at the 3rd Choir Festival in Rwanda, a 5th division competition far removed from the euro grand prix where the top flight choirs sing."
Would stating the facts such as won gold and 1st place and where suffice? I bet it would because it's true. if there was a clear attempt to mislead (stating that a competition is top flight when it's not) then i agree with you. you see PRs have more dynamics in it than simply accusing choirs of self-indulgence or insincerity.
On the other hand, performers on their way up cannot afford to make serious mistakes because they may no longer have a second chance. Walang tyagang makinig ang discriminating and disinterested audience(in the sense that they are not the conductor's friends or the choir members' schoolmates or mothers) sa tumitilaok na singer.
Licad is Licad. Horowitz is Horowitz. Horrors! For a fledgling amateur choir trying to make a name for itself mistakes will always be remembered as mistakes and may spell the end of their journey towards acclaim. For being so good and having made their names, the likes of Horowitz and Licad can be forgiven by their adoring audiences and may even endear them to their fans for showing that they are, after all, humans.
Choir member din ako, sabi ng conductor namin, try to see a performance this way - "when you look at a glass with water, see it as half full, not half empty... kung member ka, and you hear something good, sabihin mo.. kasi it would make them feel appreciated. If not so good, mag-selfcheck ka muna, if you think it would help telling them, mas maganda kung conductor ang magsasabi sa kapwa condutor", respeto ika nga.
Even the great Horowitz did not always play to the best of his technical abilities. In fact oftentimes he missed notes. But his audiences look beyond these things. Just the same, any Horowitz performance for them is a fantastic one. Licad, Sviatoslav Richter, & Jose Carreras are just some of those artists who, I know very well, like Horowitz, have their share of glaring "mistakes". But who can deny the magic they bring into the stage?
Only a music world's version of Ebenezer Scrooge would.

Judging a choral performance simply because one tenor didn't do well is not quite a good gauge. One has to look at big picture and details at the same time. Was the flute pianissimo too soft in context of the clarinet's mezzo-forte? Did the clarinet solo in Beethoven's 5th took too much time in the fermata? Were 16th notes sung instead of triplet's in Sir Eudy's "Waway"?
As far as any "certification of best" is concerned, even for choirs of Tallis Singers caliber, there is none. And there will never be. Grammophone, Golberg, Grove's, musicians, journalists, critics or whatnots will give their opinions and mostly not be in agreement. Just leave it to each listener's opinions to judge for themselves what is best or not. While criticism is welcome, one has to criticize under clear and objective standards as much as possible.
I have nothing but praise for this performance. First time I listened to it, I was speechless. Though I would not go as far as to say this is a "definitive" performance, in my opinion it offers a fresh insight as far as treatment of compositional materials are concerned.
i love it too....very rich. T_T . enricolee .. (go to the older messages)... is a member of madz... and he thinks this version of "ama namin" is great too! our choir's conductor is frm upcc and he loves ACS too... =D. Sir Jojo, i hope you can post more of your vids. =D
Pumiyok yong tenor soloist. Mas mature at mas maganda ang sound nila compared to the likes of UST Singers, UPCC or ACGC but still may kulang pa. Vocal technique, breathing, interpretation can still be improved
Elevate your standards para umasenso pa. Wag i-promote ang sarili by saying that you're the best without any proof of achievement to show for it. Other choirs are watching. Malay nyo, baka next year grand prix caliber na kayo.
Salamat sa comments mo. We are not promoting ourselves like that, by saying we are the best. We are definitely not the best, not by a long shot. And sorry to disappoint you, we are not aiming for "grand prix caliber" this year, or next year, or any other year. We just want to share with you via youtube, what I think are some of the best performances by the group.
IMO, bar none, the ACS is still the standard to measure up to when it comes to the European repertoire in terms of style and vocal production. And believe you me, I've been around enough to know what I'm talking about :P
Mother, a little side story: I was in Mark's car one time, and he was playing a cd with a German motet. It sounded familiar, so I asked him, hey, that's nice, is that the Brahms RIAS Kammerchor cd? He laughed, and said, no, it's the ACS cd.
Just a few reminders to those who post their videos: 1. if you can take only praises but not criticisms, don't post. Remember that posting is an invitation for viewers to express their opinions on your performance or on you as a performer. If you can handle only praises, just show your videos to your mother and other relatives, close friends, and avid fans, if any.
2) Try to not make claims about being "the best", having "the best sound", "the best interpretation", "the Philippines' best", and the like unless some acceptable authority has certified you as such. If so, provide a link to a pdf file of such certification or similar proof; e.g., if you claim to be the "Best Choir that Bago Bantay has ever heard", you should provide a link to the certification of the Barangay Captain of Bago Bantay that says so. Otherwise, your claim is subject to challenge.
Hindi ba dapat ang goal natin as choir members is to sing for the Lord and share our God given gifts? Pag my et al , present ang MADZ(videos posted by migmig21 are videos of MADZ's live performances, I am assuming that he is part of MADZ) and ACS/Glee club , not to compete but share music, not a showdown but rather to praise God with songs.
I would agree sa ibang post, baka may insecurity issue ka migmig21. sorry.
Sir Jojo, ako I'm just happy you and your choir and all these choirs who go for it from the heart and mind (not just for the looks or the prestige) are here to make music. I am humbled by such a wonderful thing. Teka share us naman yung Ama Namen. Sige na, or even your Aba ginoong maria. That's wonderful
opo paki share naman po ang ama namen...love that piece.. at aba ginoong maria... pati na rin po ang How Beautiful kung meron po.. thanks po... i love this choir....
This is very narrow view. One has to mind that just being in the grand prix already considers you one of the best in european competitions. That you didn't win the top prize doesn't take away being the best from you. When the best compete against each other, they are judged to certain standards almost left to the mercy of the jury, unlike the PBA, where referees don't judge who wins the game (I hope so!). This is a music competition. But you're entitled to your opinions, and that's fine with me.
@14140708989: how so?

many people thought of some choirs made it to the Grand Prix. Gets? Laugh Out Loud for Filipino Choirs.
migsedades 4 years ago
Actually there are 6 competitions, not 5: Tolosa, Tours, Varna, Gorizia, Arezzo and Debrecen. Kaya lang Varna is every 2 years, so some Grand Prix years have 5 competitors, and some have 6.
Nobody is claiming to have achieved what Madz won. Those who posted here about Filipino Choirs were comments for the collective, as in ALL the Filipino choirs, including Madz.
jojovelasco 4 years ago
correction madz won twice but na 2 consecutive they won last 1997 and now... LOL

try watching the Grandprix performances of other choirs who didn't win. You'll be amazed how being in the EGP is a great honor and achievement in itself.
birdsiq 4 years ago
I'm waiting for the day when a Filipino choir is not measured by the number of medals or trophies one brings home. But simply by how a choir touches the hearts of the audience. Sadly, despite our choirs are now being exposed to many international competitions, our perspectives have not followed suit. Van Cliburn didn't have to win 10 Tschaikovsky Prizes to prove his worth, and The Monteverdi Singers don't own a single EGP Trophy.

As Filipinos, we need to present our best foot forward in cyberspace and work towards a counterculture of sophisticated and nuanced thought against the crassness out there.
kumpasawit 4 years ago
That said, visitations of the Spirit through musical renditions like these, are not exclusive to any choir. Or even to those that win in competitions. Even the stones cry out in praise to God. I wish we could fix our gazes towards the One to whom towards music like these are sung to.

Despite all the words written about this choir and this song, doesn't it still touch your heart? God so loved the world seems to come out from the idea of praying the pater noster and to be welcomed into the common grace that is ... hay Sir Jojo, miss ko na nga ang AILM, at ang Gesu. Hay at yung NAMCYA.

I'm starting to get migmig's point (whew after a long while!) but i wish he had laid the predicate to his arguments earlier on. and present some more facts to support his arguments.
i'm sorry for migmig he got slated in this forum.

Interesting comments. Sorry to dampen your enthusiasm guys, but I don't find anything extraordinary in this performance. I think it's glee club level. But overall, the determination is admirable.
asterixobelixis 4 years ago
I am appalled. The level you're talking about. Glee club level. Maybe you don't know what your talking about. The overall balance, organic unity and yes expression and technique is exemplary. Not glee club level. I wonder how you can speak so ill for something you are not part of?

Sir Jojo, I think these people who listen to your choir are misled. You don't pretend to be the great choir that you are. Many other people would rather have blurbs and prizes. I believe that you have here is art. So open to criticism, but attests to a great heart, and yes keen mind.
myyellowshirt 4 years ago
I wonder if you can post up the Majesty and Glory of your name, alam ko you said kinakanta nyo yun sa Gesu pero walang recording. Grabe I would want to hear that again and again.
Teka nakapag Miserere na kayo ni Gorecki? I think your choir would do that one better than the original.
myyellowshirt 4 years ago
i think migmig21's concerns are valid. I once opened a website of a local choir which introduces itself with a line that reads something like this: No more lengthy debates and .... it is a universally accepted fact that (this choir) is one of the world's best for all time.... It was such a big turn-off. Why can't they just describe their repertoire and concert/tour schedule and enumerate their achievements and awards and leave the judgment to the public, period.
abounaroti 4 years ago
MireyaLuis 4 years ago
I agree that migmig21's concern is valid and that such a behavior by a choir as you have described is rather distasteful. However, migmig is accusing ACS of commiting such self-promotion, when there is no actual evidence of the choir having done such. All the choir did was post their video alongside factual details (venue, title and composer etc.). The praises were made by viewers and not the choir itself. And thus, the claim of self-promotion being commited by ACS is definitely unfounded.
loloi 4 years ago
sure they're valid. but are they applicable to this case? migmig21 has yet to post the comment that started this whole hullabaloo...
and i think it's inaccurate to qualify this youtube video as a shallow jab at self-promotion. it WOULD be self-promotion if it was being aggressively shoved in people's faces but it's only one video among millions being shared here.

And your music, I love.
myyellowshirt 4 years ago
But no, they said they won more than 150 and that as a team, they ranked first or second overall. What world were they talking about? Venus? Then I checked. Yun pala, ISI world championship ang sinalihan, hindi International Skating Union (ISU)-- the true world championship. I didn't even bother to know what ISI means. May be one of the I's stands for Insignificant or Inconsequential.
migmig21 4 years ago
I don't think any member of this choir has posted or claimed that they are the best in anything. I only commented that this was (for me) the best rendition of this song, but I'm not even part of this choir. And I don't think any of the people opposing your views about this choir whom you accuse of not being able to take criticism are part of this choir.
andok888 4 years ago
We are here on youtube to enjoy not to dump our frustrations about the world. More power to all of the country's artists, whatever art form they've chosen to make us proud.
andok888 4 years ago
I've been watching world skating championships on cable tv but i've never seen a qualifier from our pearly shores. What made me suspect the misrepresentation was the boast of the local delegation that they won more than 150 gold medals in that world championship! I thought all along that only 4 gold medals were being contested in the world skating championship! [They are for singles (men and women), ice dancing, and pairs.]
migmig21 4 years ago
More on comments about this post: This self-promotion is not only true among choirs; there's this girl who won a skating medal abroad and being promoted locally as a "World champion". She (and her parents) have parlayed that title into an endorsement contract with Milo. But I wonder, how can she be a world champion if she can't even land a single triple jump? The most complicated jump she could manage is probably a double loop. Can this girl beat Shizuka Arakawa, Sasha Cohen and Irina Slutskaya?
migmig21 4 years ago
Hi migmig, I see your point, your insights are quite valid. However (this is a big HOWEVER), when did the choir (its members or its conductor) ever make a self promotion? You keep on repeating the issue of self promotion but I have never witnessed any post from the choir that implicated any self promotion. Please quote a post from this thread that exhibits that self promotion you are claiming. Just be sure that what you quote really came from a member of the choir!!! okay???
loloi 4 years ago
Hi migmig21. Thanks for your well-articulated comments, and your concern. I'd appreciate it if you would post the comment you've been referring to, the one where we apparently aggrandize ourselves and mislead you. And I hope you understand that our conductor and choir have never intended, nor mean to intend, to advertise ourselves as the best choir. We got what we got in Tolosa, nothing more and nothing less.
enilejna 4 years ago
The comment in this post is typical of how we tend to promote ourselves. Let me segue a little-- this is no longer about ACS but about Philippine choirs in general. When our choirs compete abroad and they win an award, they make it appear that it is the most important award and the contest they joined is the most prestigious contest in the world. Unfortunately, 99% of those who hear about the news believe them.
migmig21 4 years ago
Anyways, kahit naman the best has off days. I remember hearing the "best" sing with two sopranos grating on each other's runs. Hay naku, kaya nga live performances are such risks.
myyellowshirt 4 years ago
That is a valid observation. But would you rather see a press release that reads like this:
"YadaYada Choir wins gold and 1st place at the 3rd Choir Festival in Rwanda, a 5th division competition far removed from the euro grand prix where the top flight choirs sing."
inswinger7 4 years ago
Would stating the facts such as won gold and 1st place and where suffice? I bet it would because it's true. if there was a clear attempt to mislead (stating that a competition is top flight when it's not) then i agree with you. you see PRs have more dynamics in it than simply accusing choirs of self-indulgence or insincerity.
inswinger7 4 years ago
On the other hand, performers on their way up cannot afford to make serious mistakes because they may no longer have a second chance. Walang tyagang makinig ang discriminating and disinterested audience(in the sense that they are not the conductor's friends or the choir members' schoolmates or mothers) sa tumitilaok na singer.
migmig21 4 years ago
Licad is Licad. Horowitz is Horowitz. Horrors! For a fledgling amateur choir trying to make a name for itself mistakes will always be remembered as mistakes and may spell the end of their journey towards acclaim. For being so good and having made their names, the likes of Horowitz and Licad can be forgiven by their adoring audiences and may even endear them to their fans for showing that they are, after all, humans.

Were 16th notes sung instead of triplet's in Sir Eudy's "Waway"?
inswinger7 5 years ago
As far as any "certification of best" is concerned, even for choirs of Tallis Singers caliber, there is none. And there will never be. Grammophone, Golberg, Grove's, musicians, journalists, critics or whatnots will give their opinions and mostly not be in agreement. Just leave it to each listener's opinions to judge for themselves what is best or not. While criticism is welcome, one has to criticize under clear and objective standards as much as possible.
inswinger7 5 years ago
I have nothing but praise for this performance. First time I listened to it, I was speechless. Though I would not go as far as to say this is a "definitive" performance, in my opinion it offers a fresh insight as far as treatment of compositional materials are concerned.

Still the best sound from any Philippine choir, so rich! Definitely unmatched. Incidentally the best rendition of this song ever.

Pumiyok yong tenor soloist. Mas mature at mas maganda ang sound nila compared to the likes of UST Singers, UPCC or ACGC but still may kulang pa. Vocal technique, breathing, interpretation can still be improved
migmig21 5 years ago
Dear flamer, if winning at competitions is ur only basis for excellence, it only shows how little you know about choral music.
andok888 5 years ago
Elevate your standards para umasenso pa. Wag i-promote ang sarili by saying that you're the best without any proof of achievement to show for it. Other choirs are watching. Malay nyo, baka next year grand prix caliber na kayo.
migmig21 5 years ago
Salamat sa comments mo. We are not promoting ourselves like that, by saying we are the best. We are definitely not the best, not by a long shot. And sorry to disappoint you, we are not aiming for "grand prix caliber" this year, or next year, or any other year. We just want to share with you via youtube, what I think are some of the best performances by the group.
jojovelasco 5 years ago
IMO, bar none, the ACS is still the standard to measure up to when it comes to the European repertoire in terms of style and vocal production. And believe you me, I've been around enough to know what I'm talking about :P
Mother, a little side story: I was in Mark's car one time, and he was playing a cd with a German motet. It sounded familiar, so I asked him, hey, that's nice, is that the Brahms RIAS Kammerchor cd? He laughed, and said, no, it's the ACS cd.
'Nuff said.
MireyaLuis 5 years ago
Haha. I had the same opinion too. I knew i was right all along.
thedeadpoet13 3 years ago
Just a few reminders to those who post their videos: 1. if you can take only praises but not criticisms, don't post. Remember that posting is an invitation for viewers to express their opinions on your performance or on you as a performer. If you can handle only praises, just show your videos to your mother and other relatives, close friends, and avid fans, if any.
migmig21 5 years ago

I would agree sa ibang post, baka may insecurity issue ka migmig21. sorry.
