@Knights2theEnd my last mustang 5.0 was puchased with 78,xxx miles on the origional 5.0. when the engine finally died, i was up to 267,xxx miles. i never had a rebuild and it never needed any major repairs besides a busted bolt in the head from when i switched to longtubes. my 92 f150 is at 321,xxx miles right now. none of my cars were really beat on and underwent routine repairs once every few months. what does that tell you, if you treat your car right fords are very reliable.
Of course if you repair any car every few months it will be reliable haha.
I just personally think that if you bought one Ford and one Chevy and left both out in the dessert or some extreme environment, and came back later, the Chevy would be more reliable. i dont know, it just all depends on different factors such as you said before, it depends on the owner too. But in my opinion Chevys are better.

A stock C5 is a low 13 second car, a stock C6 (LS2 400hp) is a 12.90 car, and the 435hp C6 is a 12.80 car stock. A stock 03 cobra is a 12.80 car in average hands. 12.40s in good hands.

@Knights2theEnd my last mustang 5.0 was puchased with 78,xxx miles on the origional 5.0. when the engine finally died, i was up to 267,xxx miles. i never had a rebuild and it never needed any major repairs besides a busted bolt in the head from when i switched to longtubes. my 92 f150 is at 321,xxx miles right now. none of my cars were really beat on and underwent routine repairs once every few months. what does that tell you, if you treat your car right fords are very reliable.

A stock C5 ZO6 is a 12.50 car, a stock C6 ZO6 is an 11.80 car in the hands of an average driver. @NateN34 4.6L vs 6.0L, "390"hp and "390" ft-lb stock for the cobra vs 400hp stock for the 6.0L vette. Real numbers? 425hp and 415-420ft-lb for the cobra. Vette is as-advertised. It's a 1.4L difference, still not 2, but it's not a 5L in the cobra either.

@RoidinRichie Hear that whine from the Mustang? It's this thing called a supercharger. It adds air, which means a smaller SC engine ingests the same amount of air as a big NA engine. Furthermore, now you have an engine with a $6000 supercharger on it against an NA engine with no mods. Guess which one's more expensive for the same power? Hey you learn something new everyday!

@TheArfdog Actually, the cobra makes more power for less money. That cobra came with a supercharger STOCK, for $32,000. The base MSRP for that corvette is $48,000. So even if it was a $6000 supercharger (try more like $2500), that would still be $38,000 for the cobra to make WAY more power than the corvette.

@Milehighsnake98 And which one of us buys new and pays MSRP again? No I pay market price. And these two cost the same. So for $30k, the Corvette will be faster, given 10k each in mods.

@Milehighsnake98 But remember, a Corvette is waaaay more of a car than a Mustang is. It may be only a 2 seater, but the Mustangs may as well be also, since you can't even fit 2 grocery bags in the back seat. Corvettes are roomier, better riding, better handling, better mpg, more reliable, better resale, better looking, better built, more comfortable, AND more legendary. The Corvette was the beginning of sports cars and muscle cars. It inspired all. Thank Chevy for what you drive today.

Agreed that there's hardly enough room to fit 4 grown men in this car, unless you're willy wonka....better built? Sure, if they couldn't build it better given the price difference something is horribly wrong. . . . better looking? (preference) more comfortable? (opinion) More legendary? possibly. BUT..... The corvette sacrifices a few things... wallet, backseat (whether it's roomy or not, at least it is still LEGAL to carry 3 passengers in the mustang),AND >>>SAFETY<<<<<

@RoidinRichie No replacement for displacement. Ford may make the same power with less liters, but more liters means more power potential. Ford has to squeeze extra power out of their 4.6L to match Chevy's bare-bones-basic 5.7, 6.0, 6.2, ect..

@Captain25011 I disagree. This has nothing to do with the make or model of the cars, or fair race. Its all about the guy who has a passion for a specific car and builds it into an impressive performer! Oh and i never hear a ford guys say dumb shit like; try racing your vette against a saleen s7! @boutin99 I'm telling the Ford fans that their false idol isnt really a ford. and i'm telling you that chevy may not have the absolute fastest in the world but it does have the best production car. zr1 beats mazarati's, ferrari's and lamborghini's while Fords are chasing after jap crap. An "idol" is a personal term. We all have our OWN idols. You also say that fords are chasing Jap crap. @boutin99 No i'm saying that the race was unfair cuz you put a modified stang against a production vette. If you had a stock mustang the vette would kick ass and if you modified the vette it would still kick ass. either way the only way ford ppl can feel good about their crappy engineered vehicles is to build it up and race a stock chevy

@Captain25011 Look! First off those crappy engineered fords sell way more cars and trucks than Chevy. As companies, Ford is doing very well and GM is still struggling. And If you really wanted to get down to it, BMW prob has the best engineered cars! But know one keeps chiming in and saying M5, M5, M5 at every race on you tube. Until you have A precious ZR1 in your driveway, do us all a favor and shut the fuck up!
