do you know what would be worse than all that? if they all lost their jobs!! in the interest of preserving the land they can no longer afford to live on. everyone of those land owners is receiving minerals right payments for mining on their land, and for actively mined land those checks can be very hefty.

coal fuels ALOT more jobs than anyone thinks, the miners are a small very small section of the good paying jobs provided by the coal industry

If you really feel that strongly against mining, stop taking hot showers, turn off your lights, stop driving your car, stop wearing jewlery, and stop using 90 percent of the products at your super market. Without the the hard work of us coal miners your way of life would be more like the dark ages
