it's good to see JOHN OATES actually use his singing ability, instead of just playing the guitar and standing around in the back. He didn't have the vocal range or quality of DARYL HALL, of course, but he does have some talent.
Their record label wanted Hall out front with lead vocals on EVERY song, which seemed a bit unfair to me.
WOW! It's been almost a quarter century since I've heard this song! Great R&B/Pop sound. Definitely makes me wish Oates did more leading - he brings something different to the music.
i saw them on the today show about two months ago on the concert series of the today show. they covered one of barry whites songs you're are my last my everthing for their album on vh1 classic television special about three or four years ago i do not know exactly what date that i saw them on.
This track should have been a bigger hit, for my money its up with " you're imagination ". Hall and Oates are one of the reasons me and my first wife split up, not my fault she has no taste. These guys helped me through that dire time the 1980's when music nosed dived and has yet to recover.
John has a great voice. Even though Daryl's is better, they should have done more songs in their great years with John on vocals. I think they could have been hits!
in 1876, a young girl named Jenn was walking down a river, an insane man killed her by stabbing her in the back, raping her, and then hanging her in his closet. While he hanged her he said Bukakke Bukkake.
Now that you have read this message, she will find you and her dead body will haunt your house for 5 years. Every night you go to sleep she will appear in your closet, hanging their with her glowing red eyes.
Hall & Oates has released their first Christmas album ever. A part of the proceeds from the sale of their Xmas album will be donated to a U.S. Marine led charity, Toys For Tots.
This song, was a "classic", yet, you never heard it played that much?...what a shame. Hall & Oates at their best.
