It's a fucking shame man! I used to own a R1, GSXR1000 etc, bought my buell and never looked back. By far the most fun bike to ride, sounds like thunder, and handles like on rails! Harley fucked Buells over because middle aged, mid-life crisis idiots will always buy Harleys to make them feel "cool" because they are not a riders bike, they are a posers bike! When Buell hit the Australian bike market in 1997 , every Harley sportster owner wanted their Harley sportster to go as fast as a Buell ..Lots of cash was thrown at Harley dealers for performance kits and accessories ....Dame you Harley for stopping a great Bike ...your Dealers pushed Harley sportster sales whilst hiding Buells in a little corner , your Harley dealers would not accept a Buell as a trade in .. sad news Buell being stopped by Harley , it always was a up hill battle ..even in 1995 when i went to USA to check out Buell , ( 2 years before Buell were for sale in Australia by a Harley dealer) i wanted to buy a Buell , i paid for the Buell and then waited almost 2 years for the Buell to arrive ..The Harley dealer would not let the Buell in his show room , The Buell had to be put in a wrecking yard show room with jap bikes ..Harley dealers and Harley customers were always out to destroy Buell

I may only have a little buell blast right now, but I have ridden Hondas and others and I love the way my bike handles and the little 500 isn't a bad motor either. I was saving up to get a new Buell XB12R but this news has really disappointed me. I guess I will just look for used one now. Oh well, there are those who will miss Buell a lot, their unique take on motorcycle engineering made them a truly awesome motorcycle as well as something different to ride other than everyone's Honda or Yamaha.

Erik, Once again Harley has let us down. I have been a fan since you first started showing your bikes in CW magazine. I own a S1 and I'm keeping it. Every time I ride it, it always gathers attention. I'm not sure what limitations Harley has put on you, but you should find a new company that will continue your dream. I don't consider Buell dead, just in hibernation for a while again (sorta like the AMF years). Your true fans and riders will support you again when your ready!

I agree 100 0/0 Ill keep my s1 1200 forever and pass it on to one of my daughters YES daughters they are 9 and 16 and both ride and love it. Erik was screwed by greedy basterds motorcycle co. I will NEVER buy a new H-D I have a 91 Dyna and will only buy aftermarket parts and if I get another H-D it will be used and if I get the chance to pick up another Buell I will be Blessed. I kept all the origional pieces to my 97 s1 so it can be turned into origional condition. But im not gonna stop riding.

My Sons both love to ride (8 & 5), and my oldest says he can't wait to ride the buell by himself. I told him to stick to his PW80. Hopefully one day I can give it to one of them.
