You're right that China cannot win a conventional war against the States but China can strike the US where it's the weakest: namely its electronic systems; China has more developed asymmetric warfare capabilities than the US. And the majority of these tanks built in the 50s and 60s have been modified and upgraded throughout the years (such as the Type 59).
