Coxe quote: "Congress has no power to disarm the militia." This has nothing to do with individuals having their guns confiscated.
George Mason. - "The militia may be here (Article 1, Section 8) destroyed... by rendering them useless--by DISARMING them. Under various pretences, Congress may NEGLECT TO PROVIDE FOR ARMING AND DISCIPLINING THE MILITIA; and the state governments cannot do it, for Congress has an exclusive right to arm them.."
The quote has been altered, and there's no evidence that the actual quote is from Adams. "And that the said Constitution be never construed to authorize Congress to.... prevent the people of the United States, who are peaceable citizens, from keeping their own arms; or to raise standing armies, ..." - Debates and Proceedings in the Convention of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, at 86-87 (Peirce & Hale, eds., Boston, 1850. 2, col. 2.)
This was a proposal that wasn't even sent for Congress to consider because the Massachusetts Convention rejected it. But even so, the proposal has nothing to do with individuals owning guns. "Their own arms" is referring to their own militia arms rather than depending on a standing army for their security.
Who were "the people" that this rejected proposal referred to? Let's look at their own Declaration of Rights: "The people of this Commonwealth have the sole and exclusive right of governing themselves as a free, sovereign, and independent state; ..."
That's a "sole" and "exclusive" right for ONE COLLECTIVE BODY, "the people."
Why didn't he say "The Constitution shall never be construed to prevent the CITIZENS from keeping their own arms?" They ALWAY said "the people" when it came to bearing arms, and that's the term used to describe a collective BODY. Their "own" is "the people's" own rather than being dependent solely on a standing army. He is NOT talking about arms unconnected to a well regulated militia.
@freatork1 If you look at the other locations the term "the people" is used in the bill of rights it collectively refers to all individuals. This is NOT talking about the militia but about all citizens [they were consistent].
Great video. But we should remember that when our founders were talking about the right to bear arms they werent exactly talking about hunting. They were talking about revolution. And when any goverment prevents their people from bearing arms the goverment has no fear to do with its people what it pleases.
@CWSmith19821982 Exactly but we are beyond fucked by now. All most people can carry without worrying about going to prison is semi automatics. It would be kind of hard to form a revolution when people with glocks try to fight against a brigade of soldiers with aa 12 shotguns, tanks, fully automatic smgs, and explosives.
Vote for Baldwin/Castle,they are clear the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.they are attracting huge groups of people this time around,Fathers rights groups,Ron Paul supporters, and hopefully NRA.
ruled by Rothschild British Illuminati SEA LAW. If the 1st Amendment comes in peril we Americans still have our 2nd Amendment to fire on the current unjust politicians with powder and
shot. It's called the Bill of Rights and US
Constitution. In other words "Don't tread on me" or "Come and Get IT". We cherish our Declaration of Independence but we will protect the Magna Carta come the choice of Liberty or Death.
The major vote is going to be Democrap and Republican. The last time we voted for a third candidate we got Bill Cliton in office for eight years and the brady bill. Between the Democrap congress and Osma obama we will lose all of our 2nd amendment rights.
I think it is more important I have an M16 just in case Bush decides to declare Marshal law.... which now can be done in the event of another Terrorist attack.

If I'm tied up, how the hell is gun supposed to help me? Frankly firearms only provide a false sense of security. The element of surprise inherent in any home invasion is more than enough to allow the attackers to overwhelm those whose home is being invaded, unless of course you carry your gun around in your pocket all the time. Which I'm sure you do, so nothing for you to worry about. I would probably forget.
@TacticusPrime Have you always been this stupid or did you have to get dropped on your head? BTW I do carry my gun in my pocket most of time. If someone is in your house the element of surprise will only make the invader fearful and dangerous.
You notice The Constitution shall NEVER be construed to prevent us to keep and bear arms. They cannot change it.If this were to change,be SURE that our civil liberties will not be protected from abusive powers. The bill of rights GUARANTEE'S
that we shall not loose our civil liberties. The Founding fathers would be turning in their graves if they took away the rights to bear arms.
I just pray to God that the Supreme Court reads and knows these quotes when they decide on the D.C. gun ban. God help us or we will have to help ourselfs.

Obama is gonna produce more gun laws. Libertarian Party is the only party that supports the Founding Fathers. Restore the Constitution.
