It's a shame to hear he doesn't like classical music because it's what makes my world go round but I've got a lot of respect for this guy. And yes his technique is technically bad but he's a street fiddler, not a classical player. He doesn't need Heifetz technique to do what he does best: fiddle and be cute for money!

His holding of the bow is correct. The bow might either be too long or too heavy for effective control on bowing, so he could have just moved his hold a little further up, although away from the frog. Notice he only used the upper and middle regions of the bow. His bowing technique is good and this only goes to show that he knows his stuff. The weight, length and the relative proportions of the bow is essential to playing well, that's why we've to choose any bows wisely.

Was on vacation once and heard someone played on an electric violin. Has a similar kind of techno sound. Definitely not the Classical stuff of Beethoven or Mozart...

@javabird123 not certaaainnn, but one of my conductors once told me that if you hold the bow towards the middle ish kinda how he is holding it except a little father from the frog, its called the baroque styled hold. violinists would use this because of all the spiccatto they played (it makes it easier to bounce).

@Lovelyonuoha He holds his bow like a fiddler. I fiddle and that is how you hold you bow when you fiddle. Holding the bow like that you can move it faster over the strings.

Cute kid, but I have to agree with some of the comments that say he needs lessons. Lessons & good technique will actually make him BETTER than he already is, & correct technique will protect him from injury later on (i.e. carpal tunnel, back problems), and allow him to get an even better sound out of the violin.
