Unboxing NOVA OSD with RTH Functions

Ali,

I have a NOVA OSD and am confused about battery set up. Do I need to power my FPN (video tx) separate from the OSD? When the directions discuss two battery set-up, they are talking about one for power (motor) and another fro the OSD board, correct? It doesn't appear to me that the NOVA powers my video tx.

A short video on how everything - VTX, OSD, ESC, RC-Rx - is wired would be GREAT!

@jimzeagle If you power the OSD with a 3S LIPO through the current sensor it also is meant to power your VID equipment at 11.1 volt, if you run a 4S the voltage is to high on the vid equipment therefore you run the video voltage from a separated supply adjusting the jumper as described in the instructions, as far as BEVRC helping you, forget it, I scrapped my OSD, I found the NOVA OSD was a rubbish unit, I only saved the GPS module I found BEVRC after sales non existent,

I purchased this from BEVRC and it never worked, BEVRC has never answered any of my emails. Dont buy from BEVRC as after sales service does not exist.

@SubatomicRC you do not need either of those systems once you have this OSD. cuz it offers both system capabilities all in one

There is a serious bug in the software when using the eleven mixing, the stabilization fails miserably. What happens is that the stabilization will give up or down to try to keep the plane stabilized instead of left/right aileron. Using normal elevator and aileron in a classic plane works fine. and also have you considered a dual camera system with a input feed switch so you can have one forward facing cam with the osd and one 360* zoom camera for sight seeing

@Overdosedd1225 thought of doing that but for now, I am good with one cam. thinking to try Head Tracker using Chainlink Dare.

@Overdosedd1225 it can fly with old or new Chainlink easily. if i wanna replace old Chainlink with CL Dare, its just replacing the Rx in my plane. then Nova OSD will replace the FY21AP and CE OSD. I will have only one GPS antenna to use than instead of two. and do not have to wait for FY21AP to lock on satellites.

Does the Nova have any stabalisation built in? If so might be a good replacement for my FY21 which I lost in my Skywalker recently.. Should be a good competitor to the Eagle Tree and the RVOSD systems as the price is definately much better.

so ali instead of me getting the fy21 ap and the ap 117 module and the ce osd i can just buy the nova osd and do a simple fpv setup that would get at least 2km ( i know the ce osd does similar stuff as the nova osd) :) <3

@jaydensurfes yup thats the idea. If Nova OSD RTH is working good and brings plane back safely then FY21AP, AP117 and or CEOSD we do not need. Nova OSD has 3 OSD modes, 1- CE OSD type simple, 2- F16 type OSD screen and 3 blank screen. you can use a 3 position switch on your radio to switch between these modes. Also another 3 position switch can switch between manual, Pilot assistance and RTH Flight modes.

@jaydensurfes thats the plan. it might take some time but will surely do the video of setup. I have a FPV system sitting here. Cam, VTX, RX, Auto Antenna Tracker and Nova OSD. just waiting for new Skywalker V5 and sirius planes. then will do a complete setup video including plane setup too
