I have to thank you for your video on Oahu guitars. I stumbled across it and seemed to have developed a addiction to them and have purchased several off ebay -
Question: Have you found any information on the different Oahu models and years? I think I just purchased a 67K - Mahogony/Checker binding. Any info would be great.
es un buen trabajo,yo tambien quisiera que bierais el mio pon en la barra de busqueda de youtube,,,,, demenos sueños dime que te parece saludos y animo compañeros
Great, soulful stuff. If you're ever in Cleveland, Ohio look up the Hollywood Slim band and sit in. Just got to jam with a countryman of yours named Dave Thomas. He's just released a cd with another Cleveland blues man named Wallace Coleman. Look for it. Cheers!
This tune just plays over and over in your head. Great sound. I remember the first week it was featured and it had only 200 views and over 20 honours. Maybe Fred should record and release this since everybody loves the sound.
Thats so cool ! Theres a legend that some of the first Delta guitar players learned from Hawaiians in traveling carnival shows through the deep South . Although some say it was learned from being in WW1 by Spainard guitar players with open tunings. You though really nailed the Delta /Hawaiian cross in a real unique way. Very cool !
Thanks a lot for all the nice comments folks! Glad you enjoy my music! This feauture thing was a nice surprise - the most views one of my videos have had before this was about 10,000 in 6 months - now, 16,000 views on this one in a few days - crazy. By the way, someone commented on the high action on the guitar - it's a lap steel guitar and cannot be played like a "normal" one.
well jm taking the hard road i'm taking whats mjne i'm drinking the bottle and leavjng the wine i'm telling you sadly so dont waste my tjme.........whole song just popped in my head..top tune..could write all day to that..l

can you give the exact tuning string by string please? Beautiful music very very nice!
kramana 3 years ago
Thanks! The tuning is in open D format, which is D-A-D-F#-A-D, low to high, but tuned down to Bb or thereabouts, so Bb-F-Bb-D-F-Bb.
Fred.

shame on you for your bad comment, learn how to spell ;)
Xvo1 4 years ago
what? because he spelt 'you' like 'u', and 'your' like 'ur'?
shame on you for being a bit of a dick tbh
YourMother12345678 4 years ago
I can spell you dick, its called l33t talk, in past couple of years people tend to talk like that on the internet because its quicker you dick.
urmumizfat 4 years ago
Unfortunately, it does give the impression that the person typing is either 14 or stupid though.
Don't be offended, I'm not saying you're either of those things, merely that l33t talk gives that impression
