Native Support for XDCAM EX SxS in Avid? Are you referring to AMA? Otherwise don't we still need the Clip browser for AVID to see these files? The manual says that MP4 files are not directly supported? Can you make a video with the procedure you are referring to?
Media Composer 3.5 has native support for the XDCAM EX SxS card or folder structure. There's no longer a need to use the Clip Browser to rewrap the MP4 files as MXF.
Hello Bob, thanks for your contributions to Youtube. I just subscribed me to those...
Here is my question from Mali, West-Africa...
While importing my AAF files into Avid Media is gives the message: Unable to scan the file: E:\Avid MediaFiles\MF\1\032_0094_01.aaf . The file does not appear to be an MXF file?
I have an issue and thought you might help: I've followed this tutorial and when I go to import AAF's in my Avid Project Bin, the clip and sequence say "Media Offline"
I can't speak for the Clip Browser software; that is a question for Sony. But it has been working very well for me and I have not seen it drops frames like you're describing.
Yeah it only jerks the first few seconds of playback in Version 2 but its annoying when youre skimming through 50 clips, it wastes a third of your time.
Also it has other frustrating features like the ridiculous multiple tabs in the monitor window (every time I play a new clip it gives me a popup warning about reaching the maximum tabs)
Finally I hate the uneccessary wait for progress bars when I click a folder containing clips. It could part load with placeholders and a cancel button
Nicely done!~ Worth every star... Makes Avid much more appealing for XDCam than Final Cut Pro! How does MC deal with the long GOP format tho? Is there jitter when you have many real time effects playing?
Depending on your computer, you should see 3 to 4 streams of XDCAM media in full quality without dropping frames. Draft mode should double that without dropping frames.

Why are you using the Clip Browser? There is no reason and believe it is causing the issue. Don't use the Clip Browser software.

@RiggiMediaInt Yes I'm talking about AMA. There's no reason to use the Clip Browser over AMA.

Where are you exporting the media to? It must be in the Avid MediaFiles > MXF > 1 (Numbered Folder).
Is the database being rebuilt?

Thanks for the response. I was on the phone w/ Avid support for 1.5 hours trying to figure this out, and they finally contacted you. I'm running
v.2.8.3 and learned via your info that I've gonna update to 3.1.2. Ockham's Razor indeed.
Thanks for the help.

Heya. I think Clip Browser is shit. But maybe it's partly cause I'm doing something wrong.
Do you know why the clips are jerky for the first 6 seconds in the preview? It's a brand new Dell Latitude laptop (2.2G, 2GB)
