  • That guy at 2:00 looks so fucking pleased.

  • what if u were there to get a different game?

  • @RorschachAvenger actually something like this happened on the day of the Xbox launch. At the same location, there was a massive queue which was surprising to say the least. Turns out that it was the queue for the first season of 24 on DVD :/

Interestingly though, the smallest queue i've seen at Tsutaya was for the Nintendo DS launch (around 15 people). It was a Thursday launch of course but even so... and we all know how that turned out in the end :D

  • @RorschachAvenger is that a joke? if so your retarded DQ series out sells every game in japan besides pokemon

  • @hecatomb hey now don't get defensive. it was a rehtorical question and im sure at least one person was there to buy a game that wasnt dragon quest. you shame the name of fanboy

  • @RorschachAvenger i didnt, thats why i said if it was a joke. You should think before posting

  • @hecatomb why is that? even if it was a joke i didnt intentionally hurt someone. maybe YOU should think before you post ;)

  • @RorschachAvenger dude I wasnt even mad wtf is wrong with you? Do you not understand english?

  • @hecatomb LOL no i dont understand english. xD come at me bro

  • I didn't know they shook hands in Japan. I don't know much about Japanese culture.

  • the japanese actually make sense waiting till the day time to launch something instead of the fucking middle of the night which i will never go to!

  • i cant belive one person missed the like button

  • Three more days! :D

  • it would be awesome if they did this when DQ 9 came out over here

  • this game will come out in about 2 weeks!

  • this game is gonna be awesome. I went to the midnight release of ff13 and it was really fun so ill probably do the same for this one too.

  • man, not a single kid in line!

  • Customer number one was the man. Wonder what was going through his head.

  • Square Enix: Okay guys were cookin up a dragon quest game .

    [6.21 SECONDS LATER]

    Japenese peoples: OH GOD!!!!!!!

  • そこにナンパしたいな〜。

  • might have to reserve a copy for this one =P

  • Man, I can't wait for an English version of Dragon Quest IX!

  • or the old man in the black?

  • the guy in the black is Yuji Horii, the guy in the blue slime hawaiian shirt is Ryutaro Ichimura , the producer.

  • was that yuji horii on the microphone in the blue shirt

  • Canadians should have more fun conventions like these.

The guy who was holding the #1 was so happy in all his otaku/nerdy glory. Good for him! :)

  • very so cooll good

  • japanese and their lines

  • I arrived in Japan on the release date but was unable to buy one because they were all SOLD OUT (I visited 7-Eleven, Kiosk, etc).

I managed to buy my DQIX game from Big Camera at Sapporo train station the following day.

It was quite a day to remember - arriving in Japan on the day a Dragon Quest game was released!

  • it shoulda been a national event

  • :"> Japan is so beautiful

I wish I could get there for a sightseeing

  • Very very awesome food, Cool style of wearing, nice view of upcountry. YOU must get there once in your life.

  • But it isn't nice on your pocket. Everything there is expensive.

  • The guy holding #1 Fan seems so proud O.o

...I know his feelings... I want that too.

  • I want it right now here in Europe.NOW. Also the japanese girls are so sexy.I just want to marriage one of them.

  • learn how to speak english first

  • Hahaha... you made me laugh..brother

  • lol no wonder they cant have this on work days. this launch looks like it destroyed!

  • man that looked awesome, i cant wait to play it when it comes out in english, i hope they are working on a console dragon quest next

  • there are! the next one will be for the wii

  • came for the sprsk. stayed for the lulz.

  • rofl @ sprsk

expert on japanese and dq culture

  • freak ppl lawl

  • I wonder if FFXIII will buck the trend of massive DQ/FF launches. It'd help PS3 out alot if it doesn't.

  • dragon quest is massive , the most selling rpg in japan.

  • I don't know if this is true, but I heard that Dragon Quest videogames can't be launched on working days, only on sundays and holidays, because people would miss school or even work to get a copy of the game...

    I'd love to be there!!!

  • it's as true as the earth turning around the sun.

  • It's true, but it's something Enix decided to do of their own free will. It's not a law in Japan, which is what a lot of gullible people believe.

  • Ah, that explains a lot :D

    Thanks for the clearing man!

  • wow can't wait till in comes out I wish Koichi Sugiyama could have been there to see this

  • hehe im sure he plays dragon quest when he's on his break

  • I know but it would be cool if he was there

  • i know how ya feel

  • Gee thanks for understanding me

  • no prob

  • wow Man I Wish he was there

  • It's out there? Now? OMG!

  • One thing I don't get: why do they choose to stand in line for hours? Can't they just preorder stuff online?

  • For many Japanese , DQ is a once ever 3-4 year event. People who aren't hardcore gamers get excited along with the bigtime gamers.

There's not really a need to queue, you can preorder, but there is something fun about the whole thing.

  • IDK.

  • I can only imagine how many people line up for dq 10 ^_^

  • wow

  • lol..very cool. i've got up at pm 4o'clock today. so overlsept the whole thing. thx for the vid :)

dorakue still is the peeps magnet #1..lol

rolfmax @the one with the dorakue dakimakura. lolol
