I think it means the dear brethryn have received no revelation telling them what to do, yet. A doctrinal change of this kind Hinkley called a dispensation--a mini-dispensation maybe--he was a journalist
I don't know much about mormones and other sects, but the Catholic Church doesn't allow transsexual monks and nuns, which is understandable as one must be mentally stable to live in a monastry. On the other side I don't know hiw they check one's background if you live in stealth...
What a cute shirt. You are awesome!...... and cute. Babtisim, is a trap!!!! Don't do it! The last time I saw such a thing they tried to drown the person. Oh, the activities you can participate in is called "the offering" in which you give them money. All are welcome at this event.
Regarding what you said about breast soreness and enlargement, I too am on estradiol gel 1mg daily and had this effect quite early on. My breasts and nipples have shown definite enlargement but after four and a half months but still no more than the average eleven or twelve year old perhaps! Hey, now the world knows what I have under my tee shirt!
Corinna..I happened upon your vid. You are curious what the attitude of the church would be toward you? Having been a member all my life, I do not speak for the church, but I can give you a good idea of your reception. You are a child of God. Jesus loves you. We love you. We would have no problem relating to you, joking around with your, being nice, and/or liking you. You seem like a very nice and wonderful person.
well, to begin with I wouldn't consider the mormones as a church, but as a sect one should avoid. besides, this whole discussion gives sense only if Corinna will promote herself as trans. If she, on the contrary, applies for the membership in the mormone organization as a woman, nobody would even care.
I understood that. But am I not right that this would be the case only for those transsexuals who absolutely - for one or another reason - revealsed their past? If he or she, on the contrary, lives in stealth, as they say, this whole discussion will never be actual.
Will you please post a video about gay marriage? I am very interested to hear your perspective on the issue. I don't know if you're in California but I'm sure you know of the good news from today. :)
As an LDS (mormon) Scientist who has dabbed in scientific gender research and has published and received money for my research on such I have a different opinion than most.
Gender identity isn't as black and white as many might think.
the bottom line is that Jesus is the ultimate judge and especially when it comes to gender identity the most important thing is to lead a good life.
You can attack or get angry but it serves no purpose and only hurts you.
I would warn anyone from giving credibility to anything omiolo says. He/she claims to be a scientist/researcher/award winner/maker of genitals for transexuals, but refuses to provide any proof in the form of websites, papers written, awards received, etc. Be wary of this person!
secondly, if you go to an academic search engine like science web and type in vaginal and engineering, some of those papers are mine! Others in our group do penile engineering.
I don't know if you are serious or being deceitful like SethExM. Time will tell!
The LDS belief is that all "spirits" are male or female by divine design and changing that physically is just as much an abomination as being gay. The basic answer is no-- a transexual could not be a member of the LDS church. One *might* be able to if post op and repentant of their actions in changing sexes. But they would never be able get a temple recommend or be able to make it into the celestial kingdom (the highest level of "heaven"). Believe me, I've researched this topic very much. =(
Like you said, it's not a situation Joseph Smith would have had to deal with, so I imagine the rules are not clear cut. But my husband (who served a mission for the LDS church and was raised a mormon) says that yes, the church would likely expect them to resume living as their birth sex if they were to become members of the LDS church. It is similar to the church's rule about homosexality in that one can feel that they are gay, but they cannot act on it. TG would be something to "overcome."
And yes, I was once LDS. I technically still am since I've neither been excommunicated nor removed my own name from the membership list. I do not agree with many things taught in the church. While I am not TG, I am bisexual. I also support the GLBT community wholeheartedly. By that claim, I am no longer "temple-worthy" because my beliefs are contradictory to the church's. The whole story just doesn't sit well with me anymore. I haven't practiced in years.
Great to see you again. I'm glad the rough section is done with.
I'm agnostic and I have no desire to talk with anyone in order to join there club. It seems to me that almost everyone in any reigion will only follow the rules they decide to follow and not every single one. Why they only decide to follow the ones that require you to get into everyone elses business except your own is beyond me.
and i thought you were going to say something important!! LOL...

I think it means the dear brethryn have received no revelation telling them what to do, yet. A doctrinal change of this kind Hinkley called a dispensation--a mini-dispensation maybe--he was a journalist
and tagged around Ezra Taft Benson half his
life trying unsuccesfully to mitigate his
disasters. There is a book called Salamander
that might interest you.
People not eligible for baptism include the
Amish who were too righteous, Joseph Smith
felt, to ask them to change their culture.

Show your baptism you idiot if you are so proud of it. Do it. I am sick of this BS.

I love the term "elective" transsexual surgery. Interesting video... thanks for posting.

It is elective. There are other options like... suicide, self-annihilating drug addiction... heheh.

I certainly respect your opinion of my church. I was simply responding to her inquiry about how she would be received there.

Would the church expect them to resume living as their birth sex if the transsexual person "repented"? Were you once LDS?

Why are you asking these mormons anyway?
