HAHA..looks like Jerry doesn't want to touch Jane Mansfield..almost appears that he does his best to avoid it! Even lets her fall into the pool. He looks good in this, as handsome as ever. You have to know that if he and Dean had not split he likely would have not ever been considered a serious actor. He is a true genius.
@mymistydaydogs SO AGREE! AND... a DIRECTOR! He was a TOTAL Filmmaker! His first solo picture, the Delicate Delinquent, was supposed to be made with Dino in Darren McGavin's role- that's why their names are Damon and Pythias... Jerry NEVER rested! He even made The Bellboy in a matter of weeks- just to have Paramount agree to release Cinderfella a few months later at Holiday season... have you watched our bio of Jerry? Here on our channel:
@soapbxprod I've read all books about and/or by Jerry with the exception of The Total Filmmaker..so pricey when you can find it. One day I will own a copy though. Seen your Bio and fav'd it. He is one amazing person.
@Onlymusical Think that it was only because Danny and Jerry were booked as the headliners and MCs for the event- and that Frank made a special appearance?
@soapbxprod Must be either that or it was done as sort of a reverse joke since this was three years after "From Here to Eternity" and Sinatra's career was huge again. I imagine that you're exactly right, though. I bet Lewis and Thomas both kept photos of that marquee in their memorabilia in any case.
That last segment with Jayne Mansfield and her husband Mickey Hargitay in their leopard skin bathing suits was interesting. Jayne appeared frequently in Vegas and reportedly made $25,000 a week back in the 1960s in her "House of Love" act at the Dunes Hotel. Hope you can find clips of that "House of Love" act sometime.
@honeybee7700 You're welcome! We have tons and tons of old Las Vegas newsreel and publicity footage- next up will probably be Peter Lawford and Jimmy Durante doing their Zoot Suit act!

@mymistydaydogs I had the keys to his vault! When I shot the interview of him on the stage, he directed me!

Amazed that Sinatra was billed under Jerry Lewis and Danny Thomas in 1956!
